Greetings, St. Mark Family!

As we continue to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved Co-Founder and First Lady Emeritus, Sister Linda Loraine Reed Griffin, there will be NO Bible Study tonight.

We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love, prayers, service, and support shown to the Reed-Griffin family and to our St. Mark family during this time.

Our Jesus Unfiltered Bible Study Series will resume next Wednesday, with dinner served at 5:45 PM and Bible Study beginning at 7:00 PM.

Until then, let us continue to keep Reuben and the entire Reed-Griffin family lifted in prayer as we honor the remarkable life and lasting legacy of Sister Linda Loraine Reed Griffin.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!

Official Statement from Senior Pastor Christopher M. Williams

It is with a heart filled with both sorrow and gratitude that I share the final arrangements honoring the life and legacy of our beloved Co-Founder and First Lady Emeritus, Linda Lorraine Reed-Griffin.

Lady Griffin faithfully served the St. Mark Institutional Baptist Church with grace, strength, dignity, and an unwavering love for God and His people. Her fingerprints are forever woven into the fabric of this ministry, and we are eternally grateful for the foundation she helped establish and the standard of excellence she set before us.

As we prepare to celebrate her remarkable life, I ask that you continue to keep her son, Reuben, the entire Reed and Griffin family, and our St. Mark Institutional Baptist Church family lifted in prayer. Though our hearts are heavy, we do not grieve without hope. We find comfort in knowing that a life lived faithfully for Christ leaves a legacy that death cannot erase.

On behalf of myself, First Lady Williams, and the entire St. Mark family, we invite you to join us as we honor and celebrate a woman whose life, love, service, and faith have blessed generations.

Lady Linda Lorraine Reed-Griffin, your labor was not in vain, your legacy will live on, and your name will forever hold a place of honor at St. Mark.

With love and deepest respect,
Pastor Christopher M. Williams
Senior Pastor

It is with heartfelt sadness and profound gratitude for a life well lived that Senior Pastor Christopher Williams, First Lady Chantel Williams, and the entire St. Mark Institutional Baptist Church family wish to express our deepest sympathies to Reuben and the Griffin family.

Sis. Linda Lorraine Reed Griffin was our Co-founder, Founding First Lady and one of God’s true masterpieces. Without God’s blessing, Founding Pastor Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Almond Griffin’s vision and Sis. Griffin’s fierce determination and belief, there would be no St. Mark.

Her gifts to St. Mark were too numerous to count but to name a few: Sunday School teacher, musician, choir director, secretary, Vacation Bible School Director, Women’s Ministry Founder and encourager to all. Sis. Griffin always believed that we could be and do better. That was why her desire to become a Garland Independent School District Trustee was simply an extension of what she already modeled for us at St. Mark. She knew that if our children were given opportunities, they too could succeed at the highest level.

Within St. Mark, we have the Oscar Griffin Memorial Scholarship as a legacy which began in memory of Pastor Griffin’s father and was championed by Sis. Griffin. It remains a pillar within the church to highlight the desire for educational excellence.

Following Pastor Giffin’s passing, Sis. Griffin remained connected to St. Mark. Her desire was to always see St. Mark succeed and often shared words of encouragement when she would visit. Most recently she shared expressions during the installation of Senior Pastor Williams in June of 2025. While unable to attend events this year, Sis. Griffin was able to realize 50 years since the founding of St. Mark. What a tremendous legacy to leave us.

St. Mark will always be grateful for the life and faithful service of our Co-founder Sis. Linda Lorraine Reed Griffin,

With love and gratitude,

St. Mark Institutional Baptist Church
Christopher M. Williams, Senior Pastor

It is with heavy hearts, yet unwavering faith in God, that we the Executive Counsel of St. Mark Baptist Church announce the passing of Mrs. Deborah Ann Lovelace-Williams, the beloved mother of our Senior Pastor, Pastor Christopher M. Williams.

While our hearts are saddened by this tremendous loss, we are comforted by the promise of God’s Word and grateful for the life, love, and legacy of a woman who meant so much to her family.

We ask that you please keep Pastor Williams, Lady Chantel Williams, and the entire Lovelace-Williams family lifted in prayer during this time of bereavement. May the Lord surround them with His presence, strengthen them in the days ahead, and give them the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Though we grieve, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. We trust the God who gave her life and the Savior who has now welcomed her home.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” — Matthew 25:23

Rest well, Mother Deborah. Your love, your prayers, and your legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those you touched. 🕊️💙

We, the members of St. Mark Baptist Church… Standing with our Pastor. Covering our First Family and Trusting God through it all.
