Pigs in the prodigal son parable represent the rock bottom of sin and disgrace, particularly from a Jewish perspective. But they also serve as the pivot point for transformation — when the son is at his lowest, he turns back to the father, who receives him with love. The pigs symbolize how far we can fall — and how far grace can reach.
