First WEEK - When each of us joined First UMC Garland, we pledged to support it with our "prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness."

Perhaps the most difficult and challenging of these promises for most of us is witness, but we have a great opportunity to do so on Monday, September 7.

That's when we can represent our church in the Garland Labor Day Parade, an easy and very visible way to bear witness to the love and joy in Christ we experience as members of First UMC Garland. https://mailchi.mp/fumcgarland/witness

First WEEK - When each of us joined First United Methodist Church Garland, we pledged to support it with our "prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness."

First WEEK - As previously reported, the air conditioning in the Sanctuary and elsewhere has been fixed, but the software controls have not.

Which means the AC is running 24/7. And Trustees Chair Dennis Wigant reports that its nice and cool in the Sanctuary. Maybe too cool for some.

So as odd as it sounds in this 100-degree plus weather, those who might find a cool-to-cold Sanctuary uncomfortable might want to consider bringing a sweater or a jacket for worship Sunday morning. https://mailchi.mp/fumcgarland/cold

That means Sunday morning worship (Sanctuary), Wednesday WINDOWS (Schreiber Hall), Sunday School classes, and other activities return to their normal locations this week.
