First Presbyterian Church is a community of disciples, serving the community of Gardner, Kansas. Sunday worship services are at usually at 8:45am and 11:00am. Sunday School usually begins at 10:00am. First Presbyterian Church is a community of disciples, serving the community

of Gardner from the heart of Gardner, Kansas. Established in 1866, we are the oldest church in town. After a fire in 1993, a new building houses exciting ministry, mission, fellowship and service groups. The congregation is multi-generational with many descendants of the original families of Gardner, and many more newer residents in the area. We are experiencing a revival in our music, worship, fellowship, and service, and are anxious to see where God leads us in the years ahead. Our tradition is strong and our faithfulness even stronger. We are diverse in thought and lifestyle, and welcoming in Spirit. We are an open, affirming and welcoming congregation. Joy, compassion and call are central themes in all that we seek to do as we serve our Lord Jesus Christ. Chief among our many Outreach projects is The Joy Closet which is a community thrift store providing free clothing to individuals in need, as well as bargain prices to anyone. The Joy Closet was originally established by First Presbyterian Church and is now a shared ministry of many churches and members of the community. We are located one block north of Main and one block east of Center, with the library and city hall to our south, the fairgrounds, Cornerstone Park and the Aquatic Center to our north, and Gardner Elementary School to our east.
