Loving God. Loving people. Reaching generations.

DAY 9 — SIGNIFICANCE IS GREATER THAN SUCCESS

Daily Reading:

📖 Matthew 6
📖 Psalm 41

📖 Matthew 6:33 KJV
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…”

📖 Psalm 41:2 KJV
“The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive…”

Many people spend their lives chasing success, possessions, or recognition. Yet countless people who seem successful outwardly still feel empty inwardly. There is a difference between survival, success, and significance. Survival says, “I’m trying to make it.” Success says, “I achieved something.” But significance says, “My life made a difference for somebody else.”

One of my favorite movies is Coming To America. Prince Akeem had wealth, servants, power, and a throne, yet he still was not fulfilled. Why? Because possessions cannot replace purpose and love. Real fulfillment comes from knowing God used your life to bless someone else. Some of the richest people are not rich financially—they are rich in purpose.

This is part of THE SHIFT. God wants to Ignite purpose in His people so we become more than spectators. Significance is greater than success because eternal fruit lasts forever.

Questions:

Am I mainly pursuing success or significance?
How can my life make a greater impact for others?

Good Morning Beloved

PART 2 BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING

Loving God. Loving People. Reaching Generations.

DAY 8 — LOVE NOTICES NEEDS

Daily Reading:

📖 Psalm 41
📖 Luke 10

📖 Psalm 41:1 KJV
“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.”

📖 1 John 4:20 KJV
“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar…”

Psalm 41 teaches us that God blesses people who thoughtfully care for others. The word “considereth” means more than casually noticing someone—it means to pay attention with compassion and wisdom. Many people see hurting people every day but never stop long enough to ask, “Lord, how can I help?” Love notices needs.

One thing I appreciate about TLC is that we try to move with compassion through Holiday Helping Hands, I Care outreach, prayer, encouragement, and helping families in practical ways. Sometimes people don’t need another sermon first—they need someone to notice they are hurting, discouraged, lonely, or overwhelmed. Compassion often opens the door for ministry.

This is part of THE SHIFT. God wants us to bring Hope to hurting people and show the love of Jesus beyond the four walls of the church. We are blessed to be a blessing.

Questions:

Who around me may be hurting right now?
How can I intentionally show compassion today?

Blessed to Be a blessing
By Pastor David Cross

DAY 2 — PRAY FOR THEM
Loving God. Loving People. Reaching Generations

Daily Reading:

📖 Ephesians 3

📖 Ephesians 3:16 KJV
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.”

📖 Ephesians 3:20 KJV
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

One of the greatest ways we can bless the next generation is through intentional prayer. Many people pray mostly for outward things—jobs, money, transportation, and opportunities. But Paul teaches us in Ephesians 3 to pray for something deeper: strength in the inner man. This generation is dealing with anxiety, loneliness, fear, confusion, and pressure. Those are inward battles that require inward strength.

A plant cannot truly grow if you only sprinkle water on the leaves. You must water the roots. In the same way, prayer reaches beneath the surface. Prayer strengthens the heart. Prayer helps people become rooted and grounded in God’s love. When God changes the inside, the outside eventually begins to change too.

This is part of THE SHIFT. God wants to bring Hope to hurting people and Ignite purpose in the next generation. A prayed-for generation can become a powerful generation.

Questions:

Who can I intentionally pray for today?
What inward area needs God’s strength in my life or family?

Please join me, Asst. Pastor David Cross Jr. and the rest of our Pastor's Care Committee as we honor and celebrate our incredible leadership team of First Lady Jacqueline & Pastor David Cross on 43 Years Of Marriage. Early this morning, I, Pastor David Jr. had the honor to share a brief tribute to my mother and father on their 43rd Wedding Anniversary. During that moment I highlighted some mind blowing facts about being married for 43 years. That 43 years of marriage is at least 15,000 days together, thats over half A MILLION HOURS of togetherness. HALF A MILLION HOURS! That doesn't come easy or by accident. It comes by each and everyday, even sometimes multiple times a day, renewing in their hearts those same vows of honoring, loving, trusting and serving one another.

On this day, we honor and celebrate our Pastor and First Lady for their examples of love that continue to touch multiple generations and bare so much fruit there is not remove enough receive.

While their actual anniversary is today, the OFFICIAL Celebration is next Sunday May 31st.

And per Pastor's wishes instead of a love offering he would like you to
-Bless someone hurting or struggling
-Display a random act of kindness
-Encourage a couple of family in need.
PLEASE JOIN US IN DA HOUSE NEXT SUNDAY TO LOVE ON OUR PASTOR AND FIRST LADY.
-Assistant Pastor David Cross Jr.
