Got a sec? So what is Mother's Day all about...
Some love shapes us quietly, faithfully, and long before we ever notice, and Mother’s Day is a reminder of that kind of love.
Whether you’ve been in church for years or you’re just beginning to seek, this day reaches every heart.
In the early 1900s, Anna Jarvis began a movement to honor her own mother — a woman known for compassion, service, and unwavering strength. Jarvis believed a mother’s love was powerful enough to deserve national recognition. Her persistence led to Mother’s Day becoming an official holiday in 1914.
But today, we honor more than a holiday.
We honor every kind of mother:
• Biological mothers who carried life.
• Adoptive and foster mothers who chose love with open arms.
• Spiritual mothers who guide, mentor, and pray us through seasons.
• Grandmothers, aunties, and godmothers who step in with wisdom and warmth.
• Mothers who are grieving a child they loved deeply.
• Women who long to be mothers and carry that hope quietly.
• Mothers who have passed, whose love still echoes in our lives.
• Women who mother through kindness, compassion, and presence — even without the title.
Scripture reminds us:
“Her children arise and call her blessed.” — Proverbs 31:28
And truly, there is no blessing like the love of a mother — in all its forms.
Today, we honor the women who pour out strength, courage, and wisdom in ways the world doesn’t always see.
May we carry their love forward.
May we live out their lessons.
And may we never forget the power of a mother’s heart — however it shows up in our lives.
Happy Mother’s Day 💐✨
