The Season of Creation is upon us: September 1 to October 4 (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi).
Let’s take this opportunity to renew our relationship with God our Creator through prayer and action to care for our common home. This year, the theme is “Living Water” inspired by Ezekiel 47,9-12:

“Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live [...] Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”

September is national Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. Not sufficiently talked about in the debate on issues plaguing our society is the outsized role that firearm su***de plays in both our epidemic of gun deaths and su***des.
Join Pax Christi USA and Kathleen Anderson, a social worker on staff at Protect Minnesota, to learn more about the unique and highly lethal role fi****ms play in su***de and how we can prevent access when someone is in crisis. We will also hear from survivors of firearm su***de and explore the Church’s more updated and informed teachings on su***de and mental health.
Hope is available, recovery is possible, and protecting each other is a sacred honor.

From Heartbreak to Hope…Coping with Life Alone is for those who have experienced the end of a spousal relationship due to death, divorce, or separation. This includes the person left behind; the one who’s not been able to cope with their hurt, anger, loneliness, or depression; and those who – maybe years later – now realize they never processed their grief at the time of loss and are noticing that something is still not quite healed.
Wherever You Are on This Journey, You Are Welcome!

Start your journey of healing now. You are invited to register for Heartbreak to Hope…Coping with Life Alone being held both online and in person at St. Joseph’s Parish in Placentia from September 22nd through November 24th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The cost is $25.00 per person for the workbook and materials. Please go to www.stjosephplacentia.org to register or call Carol at 714 528-1487 Ext 221 for more information.
