This video is from Eric’s last Sunday at CCWGG, the day before he went home to be with Jesus.

Prior to beginning his message, people at church shared their prayer requests, as they regularly do, and Eric wrote them on the whiteboard. A particularly large amount of prayer requests that morning involved death. Eric paused and shared some reflections on our hope in Jesus being greater than our grief. How profound and good our God is that He gave those words to Eric to share that morning.

You will also hear Eric’s wife, Robyn, open the prayer time with a call for people to come alongside the families who had recently experienced loss. Little did she know that the next day, that prayer would include her and the kids.

The Saturday of, November 22nd at 10am, we will gather at Cottonwood Church (4505 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720) to celebrate the life of Eric John Williams

A man who lived boldly, loved deeply, and reflected the strength and grace of Christ in everything he did.

Eric’s life was a living testimony of perseverance, faith, and joy. Whether he was out on his bike pushing limits, or sharing quiet moments of encouragement with family and friends, his heart was anchored in something far greater.

In the hope and promise found in Jesus.

As we come together to honor Eric, our prayer is that his example leads others to know the same peace and purpose he carried. For those who are searching, grieving, or simply needing renewal; this service is a reminder that God’s arms are open, His grace is sufficient, and His love never fails.

Everyone is welcome. Together, let’s celebrate a life that pointed others toward eternity.

Dear Friends and Church Family,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who attended the vigil last night. Your presence, prayers, and support meant more than words can express. In moments like these, we are reminded that we are never alone

God places His people around us to carry us, comfort us, and lift us closer to Him.

Last night was a powerful testimony of faith, love, and community. Seeing all of you come together to honor Eric’s life and walk alongside the Williams family reminded us of the strength and unity found in Christ. Your prayers and encouragement continue to bring hope and healing during this difficult time.

As we look ahead to Sunday, let us bring the same spirit into worship. Let us come together to celebrate the life of our Savior, to encourage one another, and to deepen our faith. God calls us not just to grieve, but to live boldly in His love, to serve others, and to be the light in our communities.

Family and friends,

Our hearts are still heavy as we grieve the sudden loss of our brother and friend Eric Williams a man whose faith, kindness, and love for his family and community touched every one of us. In moments like this, the body of Christ shows its true strength: when we come together to carry one another’s burdens and reflect the love of Jesus through action.

Eric gave so much of himself to others his time, his heart, his encouragement, and his faith. Now, it’s our turn to give back and help lift up Robyn, and the Williams family as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

Church Family,

With heavy hearts, we are cancelling our scheduled Saturday event out of respect for the Williams family as they grieve the tragic loss of our dear brother and friend, Eric Williams.

We ask that you please keep Robyn and the entire Williams family in your prayers during this deeply difficult time. May we surround them with love through our prayers and presence in spirit, while also giving them the space and privacy they need to grieve and heal.

As a church body, let us continue to lean on the promise of God’s comfort:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
