Happy from the Diocese of Orange!

Let us pray together:

“Lord on this Labor Day, we thank You for the blessing of work.
We ask for the strength to complete each day. We ask for rest when we are weary.
We ask Your guidance for everyone seeking employment,
and we ask that You be with those whose faces we might never see
but who work tirelessly each day for the good of us all. Amen.” 🙏

The Rosary Academy campus is expanding!

On August 26, Bishop Kevin Vann blessed and attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a new building project at Rosary Academy in Fullerton. The all-girls high school is building a two-story, 11,860-square-foot wing that will house a student center for faith formation and student leadership, a robotics center, locker room, athletic support spaces, dance room and four new classrooms.

This important addition will give much-needed rehearsal space for the dance and cheer teams, as well as room for a planned culinary arts program.

🙏 Join us in praying for this endeavor, and for the students who will learn and grow in this new space.

At the invitation of Bishop Kevin Vann, Sisters Mary Beth Ingham and Sara Tarango of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange traveled to the Borgo Laudato Si’ in Castel Gandolfo to attend and participate in the special Mass for the Care of Creation celebrated by Pope Leo XIV — marking the annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.

Bishop Vann and his Auxiliary Bishops, Bishop Freyer and Bishop Nguyen, along with the faithful of our Diocese, renew their commitment to unity and service to the Holy Father, and to caring for the gifts God has entrusted to us through the beauty of His Creation.

The Ferrucci Avocado Ranch is more than farmland, it is a living testament to the Diocese of Orange’s commitment to caring for God’s creation.

On this World day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, we invite you to explore the ranch’s vision and history through a short documentary. This film highlights how the ranch embodies the diocese’s response to Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’, carried forward today through Pope Leo’s Borgo Laudato Si’, which calls upon us all to protect our shared home.

Bishop Kevin Vann encourages audiences to discover the significance of the Ferrucci Avocado Ranch within our local Church. He highlights how the daily efforts of those who tend to the land contribute to caring for both God’s people and creation.

Watch the full documentary at https://youtu.be/NEPDVEbeRS4?is=zmyGMfztvMfpYMJi and learn more about Laudato Si’ and how the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange are deeply committed to its values. The Sisters show us how we too can incorporate these principles into our own lives and throughout our local community.

Our Christ Cathedral Marian Gardens and recreation of the Garden of Gethsemane have officially become a member of the Catholic Garden Network!

This unique garden showcases areas dedicated to the four mysteries of the rosary—Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious—featuring handcrafted sacred art from the Peruvian Andes, done in mosaic, fusion glass, copper and bronze panels and botticino limestone panels. Near the Marian Gardens is a re-creation of the Garden of Gethsemane, complete with mature olive trees, serene walking paths and a statue of Jesus in prayer. 🙏🌿

Catholic Garden Network is a national initiative that connects, celebrates and supports institutions that create spaces for prayer, reflection and gathering as they work to offer tangible ways to live our faith through care for one another and for creation.

Thank you to the Catholic Garden Network for including us in your mission!

“There’s More” isn’t simply a phrase, it’s a reminder that with God, there’s no limit to what is possible for us. 🙏

Almost one week ago, we gathered at the as a unified diocesan family, called to carry His mission back into our own communities.

This event wasn’t just to revive our hearts and remind us of what He has to offer, but to send us off to welcome others with radical hospitality. To open that door for the person who’s quietly searching and even the one who thinks they’re too far gone.

50 years into the story of our diocese, “There’s More” is not merely a reflection but a look forward to a future that begins with each one of us. Let’s open our hearts and be welcoming to all who walk through the doors of our parishes, fostering a community of love and belonging for everyone.

Nothing will beat the energy that was felt in an arena full of people who came to encounter Jesus. 🔥

Thousands of Catholics from Orange County packed the on Saturday, hands raised in worship with nomadicworship & Matt Maher, moved deeply by testimonies, our diocesan family coming together as one, searching for the same thing.

This is what revival looks like.

🙏 Thank you for filling that arena with your presence and your prayers.

Celebrating 20 years of Our Lady of La Vang Catholic Church! 🎉⛪

On August 15, OLLV Church in Santa Ana celebrated its anniversary with a special Mass presided over by Bishop Thanh Thai Nguyen, followed by a reception, dancing and entertainment.

The parish was dedicated in 2006 to serve Orange County’s Vietnamese Catholic community, but its roots trace back to 1921. It is noted as Orange County’s first circular Catholic church, uniquely blending Hispanic and Vietnamese elements. Its design reflects ancient Iberian/Romanesque roots for Hispanics, while the “round on square” architecture symbolizes heaven, earth, divinity and humanity for the Vietnamese.

🙏 Congratulations, Our Lady of La Vang! Here’s to 20 more years of faith and community!
