Rev. Sara LaWall, a minister with Boise Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, was found guilty of trespassing after participating in a protest against Idaho’s anti-trans legislation. She and other community members had gathered at the governor’s office hoping to speak with him about the impact of the laws.

“They’re criminalizing trans people. They’re forcibly outing trans kids," she told reporters. "And the governor, nor any of the legislators, have taken any time to really listen to the stories of (the) community and the impact that those laws are now having. And I wanted to be able to say that.”

What does it mean to put our UU values into practice—not only in what we believe, but in what we are called to do when our neighbors are under attack?
