Our goal is to create initiatives and opportunities for service that integrate contemplation and action and approach just action as a spiritual practice and a fruit of contemplation.

A quiet movement is emerging, one contemplative at a time, and God knows the world needs this kind of presence.
To sustain this work we rely mostly on donations and grants. By 2030 we hope that one-third of our budget will come from our own community. We want to show that a contemplative community can thrive with integrity.
If this work speaks to you, we invite you to support us this Giving Tuesday. Your generosity keeps our programs accessible and helps this community continue to grow in the right way, at the right pace, for the sake of real lives.

Novices in their Carmelite year visited Redemptorist Renewal Center to experience desert spirituality. We were delighted to have urban hermits Tessa Bielecki and Fr. Dave Denny of lead us into the desert of our hearts.

“Of course, the story [John 2:1-11] isn’t about wine. It’s about hope—hope that doesn’t just help us get by – but hope that allows us to thrive: lifting us when the weight of the world feels unbearable. Enlivening us, when we fear the end is near.
Dr. King described this as ‘the buoyancy of hope.’ Not a shallow optimism, but something substantial, rooted in God who can transform despair into joy and scarcity into abundance.” Read the full post on our Substack at spiritualimagination.substack.com

If there’s one part of our community’s Rule of Life that surprises people the most, it’s probably this one: Adopt the Twelve Steps as a method of conversion of life, specifically by working the steps in a small group. It doesn’t surprise people who have worked the steps, of course—they know the spiritual value of the practice. But most people assume the steps are only for people with serious addictions. What do the steps have to do with living a contemplative life? Learn more and register for this community event at the link in our bio.

“Both J. Dilla and Brother Lawrence found extraordinary depth in the ordinary, crafting something unique and imaginative from their everyday lives. I began to ponder: Do I seek God in the mundane? Do I recognize my daily life as a sacred space where the Divine can work within me to create something inventive? Or do I primarily look for extraordinary experiences to fulfill that purpose?” Read the full article by Guesnerth Josue Perea by visiting our website.

“GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — The Community of the Incarnation, one of the fastest-growing religious communities in the Anglican Communion, celebrated the solemn vows of its first cohort of new monastics, marking a significant milestone in its growth and ministry. Founded at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, New York, the Community now serves people across North America and beyond, bringing a fresh expression of monasticism to today’s world.”

“Theologians remind us that “The Kingdom of God” is central to Jesus’ message in the Gospels. This Kingdom has spiritual, social, and even political dimensions. It is both a present reality and a future hope. It begins when we uncover the original love within our hearts and put it into action. This opens our eyes to see the world through Christ’s eyes. It empowers us to question business as usual and challenge our own complicities in systems that degrade human dignity. It calls us to work for a new kind of world—a world where humility, servanthood, and compassion, where sharing in each other’s pain and joy, are key characteristics.“ Read the full article on our website.
