1Cor 10 12-13

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

I believe that someone needs to hear this word this morning!

Out God will never give us more that we can deal with
He is able to deliver us.

Brothers what ever part of hell you are traveling thru it is not your home trust
God and you will pass thru.

God is faithful hold on to Him!

This world is hard and we will not it escape sorrow it’s the common denominator of humanity no matter how rich how poor we will all have sorrow
Trust God and He will guide you through.

The gifting and power of God are not for sale!

Acts 8:19-24

18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”

24 Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”

25 After they had further proclaimed the word of the Lord and testified about Jesus, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages.

I believe there are many preachers today that need to heed this message and repent!
Trust me this is not a popular message but it must me shared, some of them are doing it out of ignorance but many know exactly what they are doing and don’t care because the love of money rules their heart and not the Spirit of the Lord.

In verse 18-19 Simon saw that the power came when the laying on of the hands of the Apostles he offered money for the gift and was rebuked for thinking he could buy the gift!
Sadler today we have multitudes do ministers offering to sell the gifts and people are forking out the cash to these false teachers making them wealthy and denying the power of God.

Brothers and sisters the Gospel is not for sale it’s free to all who receive and we must quit taking part with the money changers in the temple that Jesus turned over their tables and took a whip too.

At the first of Acts 8 the miracles where taking place because they went out to spread the gospel they were obedient and God blessed them, today the modern church stays inside the camp and charges people to come in for the gifting thru fees for conferences and music building a economy of religon designed to sustain itself and itself only!

Please open you eyes and seek Jesus the greatest move of God is taking place outside the economy of religion, the miracles are awaiting those who will go into the world freely teaching and living the Gospel!

I will stop here this morning with this thought the world is dying around us all evil is winning because the called are not engaging in the battle with the true callings and gifting from God.

That the view from my back porch today.

What happens when it gets to hard

John 6

60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”

61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[e] and life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”

66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

When things get hard people tend to want to quit whether it’s in the physical or the spiritual realm we have all been at this point multiple times in our lives.
It’s easy on the mountain tops when everything is going our wat however in the valleys and the battles it’s different when it gets hard we stop.
A couple of weeks ago an old cowboy friend of mine and I were talking about my sons football team in the state playoffs and he made the comment you got to be tough to make it that far and most won’t because of all the struggle to get there.
He said people stop when it hurts and when the pin gets to uncomfortable they quit and that carries into everything in there life, that made a huge amount of sense to me and immediately I saw the spiritual point.

I am hardheaded enough not to quit anything even if it’s hard but I cannot deny pulling back when it hurts in the spiritual battle to many times, when the hurt or the cost was to much for this I repent and can testify that I will push forward trusting Jesus to see this thing thru!

Let us not be like those in verse 66 and turn around and not follow Him Anymore.

Friends this is the view from my back porch today!

I hope this speaks to someone today

together

1 Corinthians 14:26-37Open menu
American Standard VersionOpen menu

26 What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each one hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27 If any man speaketh in a tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and that in turn; and let one interpret: 28 but if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29 And let the prophets speak by two or three, and let the others [a]discern. 30 But if a revelation be made to another sitting by, let the first keep silence. 31 For ye all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be [b]exhorted; 32 and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets; 33 for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace.
As in all the churches of the saints, 34 let the women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also [c]saith the law. 35 And if they would learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church. 36 What? was it from you that the word of God went forth? or came it unto you alone?
37 If any man thinketh himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him take knowledge of the things which I write unto you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.

This is how we are instructed to act when we meet together as the church I want to challenge you a little by giving you the modern interpretation of the same scriptures and the way sadly we do it today.
Modern church
What is it then brothers when me meet together that the minister of music or worship leader will pick the songs that they will perform and ask us to sit or stand and sing to the back of the head of the brother or sister in front of for they are the anointed ones to pick the songs
The Pastor shall choose the teaching and interpret what God is saying for he hath a degree in churchanity as well as churchology he alone is qualified to have a revelation for layman cannot hold such lofty position
All thing must be done to make us feel better about ourselves after all we can’t be making people uncomfortable about the life they are living especially the church leadership.
If anyone speaks in another tongue we shall choose who is lofty enough to interpret if none is let him hold his tongue.
If any one is a prophet clear him first with the lofty leadership so they can evaluate verse 31 you all cannot prophesy remember only the ones with the positions can do such lofty things.

I think you have enough to get my point we don’t do church right
Even the worship

Ephesians 5:19
Clearly states we should sing these songs to one another giving thanks!

You guys try this next time you meet sit in a circle where you are looking at each other let people share what’s on their heart and you will see the church assembled and feel the power.

Hebrew 10:25 forsake not the assembling ourselves together!

This has nothing to do with going to a place we set apart and build a comfortable place for us to go and visit God one or two times per week or if you are really holy three times a week.

It’s about meeting together and being the body when we meet we connect the body together gift to gift once we do we are assembled and God can use us for his purpose.
Think about this if I asked you to ride a bike that was in a box not put together you would tell me you can’t because it’s not assembled, my friend The Lord fills the same way about the church can’t use it if it’s not assembled part to part gift to gift.

Intentionally Living”

Do we live intentionally?

Do we even understand the concept?

God is leading me to live simpler however this is causing a war within my self. I am driven, inside me there is a force that drives me to succeed. It drives me to achieve and this causes me distress. Many times in my walk I am brought back to this place and just like the children of Israel in the wilderness I realize that I have taken another trip around Mount Sinai and have yet to enter in the promised land.

Matthew 6:19-21 states “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steel.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moths or rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal: for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

This is a very convicting scripture. It is one that you will not find preached from the modern pulpits unless it is being watered down with reason. It seems the convenience gospel of today loves to tell you what Jesus actually meant instead of taking Jesus at His Word. I am amazed when I hear a preacher say Jesus didn’t mean it literally and that he was trying to make an extreme point to get the listeners attention! That is false teaching my friends and this scripture is a perfect example of teaching that must be twisted or reasoned away to fit the culture. It is clear that Jesus meant exactly what he said when he said do not store up treasure here where it is temporary because it will wear out or can be stolen, yet we still store it up here and even worse we desire more still. We store up so much that it is a problem even storing it. We are the only nation on earth that rents storage facilities to store junk that we never use to the point we forget what we are even paying to store!

Ecclesiastes 5:10
“Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income
This to is meaningless.”
Verse 15 states, “Naked a man comes from his mother’s womb, and as he comes, so he departs, he takes nothing with him from his labor that he can carry in his hand.”

Yet we still try, instead of intentionally living everyday with purpose, to serve and grow we live and strive to gain more. The things that are most important are the very things we neglect as we fill our storerooms with treasures, we refuse to consider that our treasures that we are told not to store up by Jesus become clutter in our daily lives that keep us from purpose.

I am not on a journey to live intentionally by choice but by direction of the Holy Spirit hopefully. It will become choice somewhere along the way. I have been here before hopefully I don’t have to comeback to this point again. If you wish to follow along with me to the path of simplicity. I will be writing on this subject as I restructure my walk but I must warn you it will be full of the butt naked Gospel’s truths.

Yesterday, February 15, 2022, our brother in Christ, David Miller, passed away. Dave was a deeply kind and intelligent individual and his passing breaks all of our hearts. However, it is without a doubt he is in a better place now. Without Dave, much of what gets done everyday at Streetscape would be impossible and it will be hard for all of us to go on without him. Dave was there when we had plenty of donations and more food than we knew what to do with, and he was there when we weren’t sure whether we were going to keep the lights on or if we would have enough food to feed everyone.

Dave was the backbone of what we do at Streetscape and would hate the fact that I am here writing about him and telling y’all how good of a fella he was. He just wasn’t like that. He liked to serve, don’t get me wrong, but he needed no attention for it and wasn’t receptive of any praise. To Dave, taking care of people who needed taken care of was what we were supposed to do, it wasn’t anything special. To him, it was what was required of us.

We all should be more like Dave, well, Dave when he wasn’t cranky. I’m not going to pretend he couldn’t be a grumpy old man sometimes, but even when he was aggravated, he still would jump up to help even the most trying of people we deal with at Streetscape. It is going to be hard without Dave, but alas, there is still work to be done, and Dave wouldn’t want us to spend too much time on our butts when there was still so much to do.

So, say a prayer for the guys at Streetscape and say a prayer for my family and as always if there is anything you want to donate to go towards Streetscape’s efforts in Galveston just reach out and I’ll make sure we get it down there to someone who needs it.

God bless,
Elijah
