We’ve been having those “best day ever” moments over here! And yesterday at chapel, I called it a “chicken soup for my soul” moment when we reviewed most of the chapel lessons we have learned this year and a student led the morning prayer! Children knew the answers to every question I asked for review! They were on fire! And they’ll take that light with them into the world! For that I am so honored and proud to be a part of, as are all the staff. The year is winding down but the fun and momentum is certainly not! 🥳🥰🤩

Limb Difference Awareness through the Lucky Fin Project helped us celebrate an inspiring student at our school. Let me tell you a little story about this sweetie and how she personally impacted my life. When I sustained a catastrophic injury that caused me to lose the full use of my dominant arm for 8 months, of course I was devastated. It shook me but I held firm to my faith and through that and my amazingly supportive husband, family, staff, friends, and eventually the right team of doctors, I made it through and continue to improve. But at one of my lowest points, I met this sweetie at the preschool. It was a painful day and I was feeling sorry for myself. In skipped this little girl with one hand, smiling, jovial, with mature adaptive skills, unique strength, and pure inspiration in a preschool body. Seeing her joy, God spoke to me through her. All I could say to God was, “Well played Lord, well played!” A little child gave me the biggest boost and she inspires all those around her, especially us at PLP. She climbs trees, does puzzles, is a great problem solver, full of life, is a good friend, and loves Jesus! It was our honor to highlight her strengths and celebrate differences wearing special stickers and smiles! God bless our friend Gwynne! A special blessing from God.

Happy Birthday Miss Susan! Miss Alia beefed up the celebration and Miss Susan was all smiles! Who needs birthday cake when you can have beef sticks instead 🎉😆?! God bless!! 🎂🥳🎈The students enjoyed singing and giving her 5 big, hip hip hurrays! There’s a 5 in her age somewhere 😋😉.

What a special week it was at PLP! Teacher Appreciation Week started out with the sweetest, secret act of kindness. While I was at the school on Sunday afternoon, I was intrigued as several cars started pulling into the parking lot. Parents and students got to work leaving some beautiful chalk art for the staff to find the following day. What a sweet gesture and start to the week! Each day, our awesome preschool families showered us with generous gifts and tasty treats! We all feel so spoiled and loved! We also had beautiful butterflies hatch and did some fun painting of flower art to celebrate the month of May. As teachers, we view students quite like butterflies and flowers. We strive to help them morph into their next stage of growth, work to give them wings, as well as strong roots of faith and confidence. We are thankful for these special children as well as their families and our hearts are filled with gratitude for the thoughtful ways they showed their appreciation for what we do. 💕 🦋🌸

What a fun night of fellowship at our PLP School Spirit Night at Chick fil A. 🥰 Miss Lisa and Miss Alia wandered a little further into the play area than most grownups 😆 but they are big kids at heart! It was nice to see the kids outside of school and excited to see that teachers don’t actually live and stay at school 😉after hours. Miss Laura was with us in spirit via a Flat Stanley version of her as she had a family event. The kids loved posing with her. Thank you to all who could come join us, support our school, hit the drive-thru, stop by or hang out for a fun Friday night. 🐔💙🕊️

Thank you Galloway Township Police Department for visiting our students and reading to them, quite enthusiastically! What a fun week wearing silly socks, crazy hair, and crazy outfits while reading extra books to help us identify rhyming words, learn new words, use our imaginations, make predictions in the story, develop our listening skills, and more! Our police friends made it even more fun. Studies show that children who are read five books a day prior to entering kindergarten will have heard 1.4 million more words than those who are not read to and those who are read at least one book per day are exposed to nearly 300,000 more words by the time they enter kindergarten. What a boost for preparedness for kindergarten, for expanding their vocabulary, sharpening their listening, comprehension, and prediction skills, and let’s not overlook the bonding time and the fun of getting lost in a book with engaging the imagination. At PLP we have a great library of books, so much so that the church spared some extra space to expand our collection. That’s an investment in children’s literacy that touches their future!
