Oikos Community Church

Oikos Community Church Welcome to Oikos Community Church! We exist to make disciples of Jesus on the West side of Columbus for God's glory.

Join us at 10:45am on Sundays, at 1199 Alton Road in Galloway, as we worship God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Oikos is Christ-centered, Reformed, elder-led and family-integrated fellowship that meets in in Hilliard, Ohio. Our people are committed to glorifying God through submission to the whole Word of God which agrees with His world. We will reach out to the community and the world with Christl

ike, incarnational compassion in order to extend God’s hand of salvation to build mature, joy filled, radical, praying, missional and reduplicating followers of Christ and churches. The fellowship exists to strengthen the Biblical concept of family, both physical and spiritual, in a non-age segregated environment. If you have questions, don't hesitate to e-mail [email protected].

As a Christian, you know that you should pray without ceasing. And you want to, but in your day to day life, you often struggle to pray. And you’re not alone. I have yet to meet a saint who is satisfied with their prayer life. That’s why we will spend some time at the beginning of this year to talk about prayer on Wednesday nights.

We’ll cover what prayer is, but we’ll spend a lot of time thinking through the practicalities of prayer. In other words, we talk about how to pray. We’ll do that through a combination of video studies (R. C. Sproul), teaching through a few passages of Scripture (Daniel), and reading classic material on prayer from church history. All sessions will include discussion. Join us tomorrow night at 6:30pm as we begin our study with R. C. Sproul looking at Hannah’s prayer in 1 Samuel 1.

Good morning friends, just a quick note to say that we're planning to have our service today as usual. Most of you are in Level 1 snow emergencies, though Delaware County is at level 2. Be safe and use your discretion if and when you travel. We'll continue to monitor the situation and will let you know if anything changes.

We discussed Question 2 from An Orthodox Catechism last Sunday. Titus 3:3–8 show us the dynamic at play in the answer: "For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people."
