The Sisters in Service Group has been busy. In July, they cleaned and refurbished used books that they placed in area My Little Library boxes. During their August get together, they continued making birthday cards for the missionaries serving in the Ohio Columbus Mission, as well as putting together "pick me up bags" for the missionaries.

We had the opportunity this morning to tour one of the local charities that will be benefiting from this year's Giving Machine. NSI Food Pantry on N 4th St in Columbus serves 12 zip code areas on the city. Executive Director Martin Butler and Director of Development, Marcia Ray took the time to show a group of representatives from the local stakes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around their operation. They are now serving 80 families a day, Sunday thru Thursday each week. In addition to the food pantry, they also provide support and referral services to the community.The Giving Machine proceeds will help the NSI Food Pantry fund everything from groceries to utility bills. They are so very grateful to be chosen as one of this years recipients.
