Friday night prayer for the first night of May:
Faithful and Eternal God,
as this first day of May comes to a close,
I bow before You in gratitude and surrender.
Thank You for carrying me through this new beginning—
for the gift of life,
for the breath of this day,
and for Your unseen hand that has guided me.
Lord, as night falls, I place this month of May into Your hands.
Let it rest under Your divine covering.
Let it be a month shaped by Your wisdom,
guided by Your purpose,
and protected by Your grace.
Forgive me for every moment I fell short today.
Wash my heart clean and renew my spirit within me.
Where I felt weak, be my strength.
Where I felt uncertain, be my peace.
As I sleep tonight, Lord, quiet every thought within me.
Remove anxiety, fear, and restlessness.
Let Your peace guard my heart and mind.
Watch over my home, my loved ones, and all that concerns me.
Let no harm come near, and no evil prevail.
And as I rest, work within me—
restore my strength, renew my mind,
and prepare me for the days ahead in this new month.
May this night be peaceful,
my sleep be deep,
and my awakening be filled with hope.
For You are the God who neither sleeps nor slumbers,
and under Your care, I am safe.
Into Your hands I commit this night and this month of May.
