Grace Episcopal Church

Grace Episcopal Church We are part of the Diocese of Chicago of the Episcopal Church of the U.S.A. All are welcome! When we say we welcome ALL, we mean it. Dr. Joyce Beaulieu.

Come worship with us at 5 pm Saturdays at our new place of worship - the Chapel at Trinity Lutheran Church. Whatever your race, gender, sexual identity, affectional orientation, political bent, or past relationship with God and religion, you are welcome here. There's no need to check any part of yourself at the door. We are a parish in a hierarchical church using the Book of Common Prayer in tradi

tional liturgical worship that believes the voice of God still speaks prophetically to people today. We are served by our good priest, the Rev.

A billboard tells kids their two-mom or two-dad family isn't real ...

then something beautiful happens.

Recently, anti-LGBTQ+ billboards appeared in rural Ohio claiming:

“No child has two dads. No child has two moms.”

The message wasn’t just inaccurate, it erased the reality of thousands of loving families raising children every day.

But something beautiful happened next.

Instead of responding with more hate, the LGBTQ+ community and its allies responded with visibility, truth, and love.

The Ohio nonprofit Have A Gay Day purchased billboards that simply stated:

“Many children have two dads.
Many children have two moms.”

Community members rallied together, and thousands of dollars were donated to keep those affirming messages on display. Equality Ohio also spoke out, reminding everyone that these attacks don’t just target LGBTQ+ adults, they tell children that their families don’t count.

That’s why representation matters.

Because somewhere a child with two moms is driving by that billboard.

Somewhere a child with two dads is wondering if their family belongs.

Children deserve to know that love makes a family and that a billboard can't erase that.

Hate may grab attention.

But love builds community.
