The United Churches will have a public Good Friday service at the First Presbyterian Church (106 N. Bench Street in Galena) starting at 2 p.m. April 7th, 2023. Representatives from six different congregations will help lead the service.
During the service participants will look back on the tragic events of the first Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as they try to understand why people who had the huge privilege of meeting Jesus in person, listening to his teachings and witnessing his miracles could possibly want to put him to death. They will do that by sharing a powerful series of monologues written by James C. Killough.
