Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church strives to be a caring and Christ-centered com

munity of faith, where we exalt God, equip disciples and engage our neighbors, near and far. Our diverse congregation provides rich opportunities to care, search, seek and serve our members "Within our walls" and to reach "Beyond our walls" to our community, nation and world. The GPC family is a vibrant congregation of over 500 members of different backgrounds, cultures, ages, and occupations, characteristic of the DC area. This diversity creates a rich community, as we grow in faith and serve God together. From GPC Pastor Joshua Narcisse, “I hope that this next GPC chapter shows up as Christ’s hands and feet in central Montgomery County, as a congregation that worships with joy, passion, curiosity, and devotion; and that our neighboring schools, businesses, public institutions, and non-profits might consider us their spiritual home and co-laborer in ministry.”

Lay leaders work closely with pastors and staff.

This Sunday we continue our series Testimony That Transforms — and Pastor Joshua takes us into one of the most honest, complex stories in all of scripture. 📖

In 2 Samuel 11:1–12:13, we follow King David — a man described as "a man after God's own heart" — through personal struggle, public failure, poor decisions, and ultimately, repentance. His story is a powerful reminder that God can use every part of our lives, even our mistakes and shortcomings, to shape us more fully into reflections of God's love and grace.

We'll also hear testimony from new member Brian Dickey, and be blessed by a special Men's Choir ensemble leading us in music in honor of Father's Day. 🎶

Join us Sunday. 💛

🙏 When you see someone on your row praising God for what God has done in their life — join in.

That's the word Pastor Joshua is sitting with this week. Because when someone around you is thanking God, it's a reminder that God is in your neighborhood, in the blessing business.

Gratitude does something powerful — it pulls us out of ourselves and opens our eyes to see how God is moving in the lives of the people around us. In our friends. Our family. Our community. And even beyond. It reshapes how we see the world. 🌱

What are you grateful for — not just in your own life, but in someone else's? Drop it in the comments — we'll continue this Sunday! 🙏

This Sunday is something special. 🌟

It's Youth Takeover Sunday at GPC — and our young people are leading the entire worship service! Through worship, prayer, scripture, testimony, dance, creative art, and spoken word, our students will center us on the theme Kingdom in Motion.

Together we'll reflect on how faith moves us from belief to action, from spectators to servants, and from being blessed to being a blessing. We'll also honor our graduating seniors and welcome our incoming 6th graders — celebrating one generation being sent and another stepping into the journey of faith and service.

Come and be led. You won't want to miss this. 💛

🙏 Are you living your life as if you're grateful to God?

That's the question Pastor Joshua is sitting with this week as we continue our June conversation on gratitude. As people who belong to God, so much of our lives are meant to be lived in response to God's gracious activity toward us — fresh mercies, open doors, provision we didn't earn.

But it's easy to become myopic. To zero in on what's hard and forget that God is still God in our lives. This week, Pastor Joshua invites us to shift the way we move through each day so that it reflects a genuine heart of gratitude. 🌱

Watch this week's Sermon in 60 Seconds and share in the comments — how are you living a grateful life right now? We'll continue this Sunday!

🌟 Pastor Joshua has an exciting message about this summer at GPC — and we can't wait for you to hear it!

This summer, our theme is Building Beloved Community. Over the coming months, we'll be focusing on deepening our relationships with God and with one another. And to help us live into that vision, we're making some meaningful changes to our rhythm during July and August.

Here's a quick look at what's ahead:

☀️ One Combined Worship Service beginning July 5 through September 6 — our entire GPC family gathering together at 10:00 am each Sunday morning.

💬 Summer Conversations & Visioning — sermon talkbacks, Scripture reflections, and visioning conversations about our ministries and future together.

🎉 Intergenerational VBS — a brand new model on July 26 and August 9, following worship in Lindsay Hall, designed for every age and stage of life.

🌮 Summer Fellowship — Taco Night at Taco Bamba on June 24, a Church Potluck and Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration on June 27, and more to come!

Watch Pastor Joshua's full message and read his letter to the congregation at the link below. 💛

🙏 As June begins, Pastor Joshua is talking about gratitude — but not the shallow, toxic positivity kind. Gratitude as a real, living spiritual practice that shapes how we see God and how we move through the world.

Here's what struck us this week: when we don't practice gratitude, we actually do our burdens a disservice. Because God never wastes any of our time or our experiences. Even the hard stuff — the inconvenient, uncomfortable, painful stuff — God can bring blessing out of it.

That's what gratitude makes room for. Seeing God in and through everything. 🌱

How are you seeing God in a hard place right now? Drop it in the comments — and join us Sunday as we launch our brand new sermon series, Testimony That Transforms! 🙏
