❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Happy Labor Day!
As Labor Day draws to a close, we give thanks for the people whose work helps our communities flourish—whether that work happens in an office, a classroom, a hospital, a home, a sanctuary, a field, or somewhere in between.
As a people of faith, we believe every person is created with sacred worth. Every worker deserves dignity, fairness, safety, rest, and the freedom to live and love authentically.
May we honor not only the work we do, but the people who do it. And may we continue building a world where every person is welcomed, valued, and treated with dignity.
Wishing you a peaceful and restorative Labor Day. 🌈✝️

I have three questions…
What have we stopped questioning?
Sometimes the questions we're afraid to ask are the ones that can lead us somewhere new.
Is there something the church needs to question?

Our weekly LGBTQ+ Poem this week is "Voyages" by Hart Crane. Hart Crane (1899–1932) was a major American modernist poet known for his complex, visionary, and intensely lyrical writing. He also happened to be a gay man. Poem below for those who use text to speech:
Voyages:
Above the fresh ruffles of the surf
Bright striped urchins flay each other with sand.
They have contrived a conquest for shell shucks,
And their fingers crumble fragments of baked w**d
Gaily digging and scattering.

And in answer to their treble interjections
The sun beats lightning on the waves,
The waves fold thunder on the sand;
And could they hear me I would tell them:

O brilliant kids, frisk with your dog,
Fo**le your shells and sticks, bleached
By time and the elements; but there is a line
You must not cross nor ever trust beyond it
Spry cordage of your bodies to caresses
Too lichen-faithful from too wide a breast.
The bottom of the sea is cruel.
