Today, Pastor César invited us to reflect on authority and subversion, drawing from Matthew 21:23-27. Jesus’ words challenge us to look beyond appearances, titles, and religious authority, and to recognize when systems of power become disconnected from justice, humility, and truth.

From a Mennonite perspective, this passage reminds us that following Jesus can mean questioning structures of power and choosing a different way -one rooted in service rather than domination, integrity rather than appearance, and justice rather than privilege.

A powerful reminder that faith is not simply about accepting authority, but about discerning how we use power and whose voices we choose to hear. 🕊️.
Today was also about community and fellowship! 🍿🍕 After worship, we gathered together to watch The Prince of Egypt, share some laughs, and enjoy plenty of pizza and popcorn. Moments like these remind us that church is not only a place where we worship and learn together, but also a place where we build relationships, welcome one another, and create community.

Today we celebrate the International Day of Peace. Let us remember that peace is built through love, justice, and truth. As León Gieco says in his song 🎶 I only ask God that war never becomes something I’m indifferent to 🎵

Today’s sermon reminded us that following Jesus means learning to make room for one another, especially for those whose experiences, identities, and ways of living may be different from our own.

As Mennonites, we are called to live out a faith centered on Jesus’ teachings of love, peace, humility, reconciliation, inclusion and radical hospitality. Welcoming others means more than simply opening the door; it means recognizing the image of God in every person and creating a community where everyone can belong.

Our differences in race, culture, social background, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and the ways we experience and express love can challenge us to grow beyond what is familiar.

May our church continue to be a place where we listen with humility, love without conditions, pursue peace, and walk together as the diverse body of Christ.

May we keep growing together in love, inclusion, and the way of Jesus. 🤍🕊️

In today’s sermon, God spoke to us through John 14:1–6, reminding us that as followers of Christ, we are called to trust Him every day, not only in times of uncertainty. When we truly live by “In God We Trust,” our faith is reflected in how we love, serve, and follow the way of Jesus. May our trust in God be a witness that brings hope and peace to those around us. 🕊️
