As we continue through the book of Philippians, we’re reminded that God’s work for us and in us provides both the reasons and the means to “work out our salvation.”

Because of the hope of future exaltation with Christ and God’s justice and discipline, we have reason to pursue holiness. Through Christ’s example and God’s ongoing work within us, we have the means to do so.

Shoutout to Jay for a powerful message from Philippians 2:12-13!

May Volunteer Spotlight: Farris and Emily Sabbagh!☀️

Farris and Emily have been part of Sola for the past 3 years, with Emily serving on the worship team and Farris serving through setup/teardown and security. From the beginning, they jumped in wholeheartedly and have consistently served with humility and joy.

One thing we love about the Sabbaghs is the way they genuinely believe in being part of the church body. They don’t just attend, they show up and serve in ways that cost something. Through serving, Sola has shaped them in countless impactful ways and deepened their love for Jesus and His church.

We’re grateful for these two and their faithful service week after week. Let’s hear it for the Sabbaghs!

We continued our Philippians series this Sunday with a message on rejoicing in suffering. Following Paul’s example, we too are able to rejoice in suffering because:

• We know Christ will deliver His people
• We can expect our lives will magnify Christ, because He is King
• God’s wisdom is greater than our wisdom
• We have the Holy Spirit and the people of God for present help

May we continue to learn what it means to have a joy rooted not in circumstance, but in the person of Jesus Christ! See you Sunday!

This month’s volunteer spotlight is Team Wilson! 💛🎶🌱
Ronny and Casey have been married for 8.5 years and have three kids, Bood, Shep, and Winnie. After moving to Georgia to work with Adventures In Missions, they knew they needed something to anchor them to Gainesville in a more permanent way. Enter Sola City Church! The Wilsons began attending in 2019, just a year after the church was formed, and have been deeply rooted here ever since.

They have faithfully served in many ways over the years. Ronny currently serves as a deacon and vocalist, Casey plays keys, and together they pour into the 4–6 class. They have also served as group leaders and been involved in women’s prayer in recent years.

Sola has significantly shaped both their married life and their journey as parents. They strongly believe that the local church is not a place to simply come and take, but a place to integrate your life and talents by fully participating. Their posture of service has been deeply influenced by how the body has served their family through both joyful and challenging seasons, and ultimately by the example of Christ.

The Wilsons are so grateful that the Lord led them to Sola all those years ago... And we are better because of their “yes!” Let’s show Team Wilson some love!🫶

Our ministry emphasis this month is Biblical generosity. We are focusing on what it means to live open-handed as followers of Jesus. 🤲🏻

From the very beginning, the Church was marked by radical generosity (Acts 2:44–45). Giving wasn’t forced, it was a natural response to the Gospel.

Jesus tells us that our giving shapes our hearts. Where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also (Matthew 6:21).

Our generosity does more than we think. It fuels our communal life, breaks the power of money over us, and advances God’s mission in the world. Giving keeps the body of Christ healthy, equipped, and ready to serve those in need.

We give because Jesus gave first... Not out of pressure, but in response to grace. Let’s be a people marked by open hands and real trust in Him!

We’ve begun a new sermon series in the book of Philippians! Over the coming months, we are stepping into a vibrant, living testimony of what it means to be truly alive. We believe that the Spirit who secures us is the same Spirit who empowers us with supernatural joy and the “fruit of righteousness,” making the sovereign work of God a felt, daily experience.

Join us on Sunday as we continue in Philippians and look for the power of His resurrection at work in our local body!
