For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh
but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion
raised against the knowledge of God,
and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
2ND Corinthians 10: 4,5
I kept falling into the same dark pit
Thinking it was only my sin
But the chains had grown roots
It was no longer just a moment of weakness
It had become a stronghold
An open door I left
swinging through repeated surrender
to the same old lie.
The enemy slipped inside
and started rearranging the rooms of my mind.
Changing the pathways Twisting what I saw
Until evil looked like freedom
and truth looked like a cage
I tried harder I prayed louder
But the walls stayed standing
Demons can be cast out in a moment
Strongholds must be torn down over time
This is the quiet war of recovery.
Taking every thought captive
Rewiring what the lies have built
Continuing in the Word, day after day.
Letting truth soak into the cracks
Surrounding myself with voices that speak life
instead of the ones that fed the darkness.
If it took years to build this fortress
it will take more than five minutes to bring it down
But the name of Jesus still casts out
and the Word of God still breaks rocks like a hammer
like a fire I will not leave the house empty
I will fill every room with truth
so the old spirit cannot return.
This is how the old me dies and the new me rises.
Jesus,
I come to You with the ruins still standing
I confess the open doors I left unguarded
the sins I kept feeding
until they became strongholds
Come now and rearrange what the enemy has twisted
Take every lying thought captive
Tear down the walls I helped build
Renew my mind day by day by the power of Your Word
Let Your truth be the hammer that breaks the stone
Let Your name be the fire that burns out the darkness
Fill every empty place with Your Spirit of truth
so nothing else can return.
I choose to continue in Your Word
I choose the long road of freedom
Surround me with voices that speak life
and cut off every voice that feeds the old chains
I belong to You now
Break the stronghold
Rebuild me in Your image
Amen
