Made it out of darkness when I cried His name out loud

Every meeting, every step, I could feel His grace

I’m not in a rush—I’m walking Recovery Alive’s pace
There’s a fire in my soul more than just a flame

Was a slave to the bottle, the high, the shame

Now it’s easier to get up every time I fall

This community love—it conquers all
I know He got me through all the highs and lows

Power, People, Process—every single road

I know that He’s there when the craving’s strong

Feel like I can’t fail when I’m right where I belong
There ain’t a hurt or habit I can’t overcome

Even if the past haunts me, I still choose love

Was so anxious, broken, so far from free

Letting go of the patterns that held me back

For my kids and my people—I’m right on track

All I had to do was trust the Process and His plan

Service, in the heart of Christ-centered recovery, is not penance. It’s praise. We don’t serve to repay what grace has freely given, we serve because love has undone us, because joy overflows where shame once ruled. It’s not duty, it’s delight. In lifting others, we find our own healing deepened, not as a trade, but as a testimony. No longer bound by guilt, we move with hearts unchained, pouring out what was first poured into us. Our hands become tools of His mercy, and in every act of love, we declare, Grace changed me, and this is what it looks like.

Lord, I don’t serve to earn, I serve because I’ve been redeemed, because Your mercy found me in the wreckage and called me clean. Let my hands be holy echoes of the grace that raised me, not striving for worth, but flowing from love. Strip away every motive that reeks of guilt, every act born of fear. Make my service a song, a surrender, a seed. Teach me to love with no ledger, to give with no grasping, to move with a heart that remembers what You’ve done for me. Use me, not as a means to prove, but as a vessel to pour. Let my service speak what my words cannot. That I am worthy, and I am free. Amen.
