The Furnace is a group of believers who have been radically impacted and transformed through personal encounters with the presence of God. Our desire is to live our lives in true devotion to God, seeking and loving Him with all of our mind, heart, and strength. We consider being able to enter the presence of God and to behold His beauty as life’s single greatest privilege. The Furnace started as a

small gathering of believers who were dramatically apprehended by God as they corporately entered the place of prayer. The early prayer meetings were held in members’ homes, where God’s presence was often so tangible that meetings would continue throughout the night into the next morning. The number attending the prayer meetings quickly increased, the home being filled with people everywhere encountering God. During those prayer meetings there was often prophetic direction from the Lord, something new to many of us at the time, but so inspiring. The entire experience was incredibly glorious and holy. God truly set our hearts on fire. The transformation we all experienced while answering the call to prayer was unlike any of our previous life experiences. As time progressed, God placed within our hearts the desire to establish a place of encounter, a place where the body of Christ could come to worship and pray without regard to individual church affiliation or membership. In answer to that call, we have now formally established The Furnace as a house of prayer for Gainesville and the surrounding geographic region. We believe that God is calling forth a generation of believers that will love Him with all their heart, mind, and strength. We believe this will help usher in the great harvest that precedes the return of Christ. There is coming a day that the Spirit and the bride will be one in the collective cry “Come Lord Jesus.” By giving ourselves to the place of prayer and by fervently longing for His return, we believe we can all become forerunners helping to hasten the day when Jesus returns for His bride. Until that day, we invite you to come and experience God with us. Maranatha,
