This month, we're excited to welcome Rev. Austin Westlake, National Youth Director for the Assemblies of God, as our special guest for the Monthly Superintendent Zoom.🎙️

Austin is a third-generation AG minister who answered the call to preach at just 16 years old, at the AG National Youth Convention. He went on to study at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO where he also met his wife, Lauren. Since then, Austin and Lauren have served together as youth pastors, district youth directors, and most recently as Director of Student Discipleship for AG Youth. They're raising three kids: Jude, Quinn, and Tate and bringing a heart for the next generation to everything they do.

We're looking forward to a dynamic conversation with Pastor Ralph Campbell and Austin as they share, pray, and connect with our Potomac family about reaching the next generation.

“From Wardensville, the Word grew and the fire spread.” 🔥

At a special Leadership Team Gathering this week, our Superintendent, Pastor Ralph Campbell took us on a walk down memory lane, tracing the pentecostal roots of what God has done across Maryland and West Virginia.

Before strategic plans. Before job titles. Before any of the structure we now stand on... there was simply a hungry pastor. Hungry for more of God.

That’s still what it comes down to.

As we look toward what’s next for our network, we’re reminded: God is still active. We need each other. And the mission was never about what we build. It’s about staying close to the One who started the fire in the first place.

Grateful for our history. Expectant for what’s ahead. 🙏

Meet our new Executive Regional Presbyter for the Central Region: Dr. J Gary Butler! 🎉

Known simply as "Pastor" to most who know him, Gary Butler is a pastor-teacher at heart – a calling that has shaped over 40 years of ministry. He spent his first 22+ years as a local church pastor, leading both small and large congregations through seasons of revitalization, healing, and growth.

For the past two decades, he's served as a "pastor to pastors" – walking alongside four consecutive district superintendents in the Potomac Ministry Network. In that time, he's served as interim pastor to more than 25 congregations in transition, coached and consulted over 50 local churches, and built a pastoral care ministry for a network of 1,100 credentialed leaders.

Gary holds a Doctor of Ministry from Evangel University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and continues to invest in the next generation as an adjunct professor, interim pastor, and trusted coach and friend to ministers across the network.

He and his wife Carolyn – an ordained minister and outreach leader as well – have three children and ten grandchildren, all walking with Jesus.

We're grateful for Gary's wisdom, experience, and shepherd's heart as he steps into this new role. Join us in welcoming him!
