Redemption OPC is a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. We worship at 10:30 on Sunday mornings at 4820 NW 34th Street in Gainesville, Florida. We call ourselves "Redemption" because it reminds us of the price that our Savior paid to redeem us from the death penalty that our sins deserved: His perfect life for our sinful lives. een saved by grace and who are seeking to glorify God by exalting Christ in their worship, families, and work. We call ourselves "Orthodox" because we believe that our thinking must be shaped by the truth of God's word. By the term orthodox, we mean that our Church holds to the truth of God's word as it has been expressed in the historic Protestant faith (also called Reformed Theology). We subscribe to the early confessions of the Church (The Apostles Creed and The Nicene Creed) as well as to the Westminster Confession of Faith and its Larger and Shorter Catechisms. We believe they contain the system of doctrine taught in the Scriptures. We call ourselves "Presbyterian" because we believe that the church is to be governed by godly, wise, and gifted men who have been called and equipped by God. They are the elders (or presbyters) of the church and rule according to the commandment of Scripture (I Timothy 3 and Titus 1). We call ourselves a "Church" because we believe that all who profess saving faith in Christ and who promise submission to his commands belong with their children to the visible kingdom he has established in this world.
