Wisdom isn’t something that happens in moments. Like the morning sun breaking across the horizon, it grows brighter over time- through daily choices, faithful rhythms, correction, surrender, and the grace of Jesus.

Are your plans not working out the way you thought they would? Are you gripping them tighter because of it, refusing to let go, convinced that if you just push a little harder it’ll finally come together?

Here’s the thing Proverbs says about that. It’s not really about how hard you’re working. It’s about what you believe underneath it, that you see enough, you know enough, you understand enough to determine how this needs to turn out.

That’s not wisdom. That’s the thing wisdom is trying to pull us out of.

Who’s really sitting on the throne of your life?

If the fear of man is bigger than the fear of God in you, man is on the throne. What people think, what they might say, how they’ll react… if that carries more weight than God’s voice, they’re running the show, not Him.

Solomon said it a long time ago. The fear of man is a trap. But trust in the Lord keeps you safe.
