United Church of Gainesville

United Church of Gainesville It's Not Like This Every Sunday - www.ucgainesville.org Most importantly, however, the entire congregation is active in its programs.

The United Church of Gainesville has over 600 members, two ministers, Bromleigh McCleneghan and Talia Raymond, and twenty support staff. On any given Sunday hundreds of members lead and share in children’s programs, youth groups for middle school, high school and post high, adult small groups, men's and women's groups, meditation and study groups, and social justice and service activities as well

as worship leadership. We are an Open and Affirming Church (www.ucccoalition.org), which means we publicly state that we welcome all people regardless of sexual orientation into every element of church life and leadership. Our denomination is the only mainline Protestant denomination that does this as well. Most people come to this church because it is well known for vibrant programs for justice, compassion and equality in the community. Most stay, however, because they find an open and welcoming spiritual community. It's like coming home to a place you've never been before. The surprise is the times of quiet, meditation, retreat, sharing, support, and acceptance in the midst of all that happens here.

This Sunday at UCG, we are thrilled to welcome John Fugelsang, author of Separation of Church and Hate, who will help lead our service and host our Sunday seminar afterward. And to make the morning even better, the Jazz Bandits will be with us bringing great music and good energy. You won’t want to miss it.

Flower lovers and growers of UCG: Help us transform the wall of Taizé blocks for Easter morning on April 5. The candles which have marked our lamentations and prayers throughout the season will be removed after Good Friday, and on Easter morning, replaced with flowers, flowers, and more flowers – symbolizing the blossoming of new life. Please plan to bring small bouquets or vases of flowers with you. Don’t forget to label your vase or jar with your name if you want it back! We’ll need flowers for both services!

Join us for Easter Sunday! 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

The most joyful morning of the Christian year, we gather to sing and proclaim Good News. The first service quietly and beautifully greets the dawn of a new day; the second pulls out all the stops, with choir, brass, kids and more.

Fellowship and Refreshments follow each Easter service.

For Children:
🐰Childcare is available beginning at 7:45 a.m.
🐣 Our UCG (allergy-friendly) egg hunt traditions will be in full swing beginning at 10:15 a.m. on the north and west playgrounds (after the children’s time in the 10 a.m. service.)
