Renovations should begin this week on our new location! We are blown away by the generosity of God's people to help pay for renovations, signage and to furnish our new building. THANK YOU hardly expresses the true depths of our gratitude!! So many have purchased items from our Amazon Wish List. As of this morning, all round and rectangle tables have been purchased. GLORY! Remaining are a few more black folding chairs, two high stools for our sound men, a rocker for nursing mothers, some cabinets for restrooms, and some items for our coffee bar. Check out the Wish List at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1UQUKEUVCYDYK?ref_=wl_share. The items will ship directly to us. We would love for you to plan a visit to worship with us and see the fruits of your prayers and investments after we get moved in. When we have a firm date for open house and building dedication, we will publicize these in advance. We have also applied for a grant to help pay for renovations and signage. You may give directly to these expenses at wearetransformation.org/give and select BUILDING FUND from the dropdown menu.
Yesterday at our church, Dr. JoJo Thomas preached a GRAND SLAM message about walking through the open doors God has for us. Below are five days of Bible devotions to help you as you walk with God this week.
5-Day Devotional: Walking Through Open Doors
Day 1: Expecting Great Things from God
Reading: Luke 5:1-11
Devotional: Simon Peter had every reason to doubt. After fishing all night with nothing to show, Jesus asked him to try again. Peter's response reveals our human tendency: "We worked hard all night and caught nothing." Yet he added, "But I will do as you say." That reluctant obedience changed everything. Like Peter, we often limit God by our past failures and present circumstances. We expect nothing because we've tried before. But God isn't asking us to trust our abilities; He's inviting us to trust His power. When has God asked you to "let down your nets" in an area where you've already experienced failure? What miracle might you be missing because you expect nothing? Today, train yourself to expect great things from the God who specializes in impossibilities.
Day 2: The Urgency of Now
Reading: Luke 18:35-43
Devotional: Bartimaeus understood something profound: timing matters. When he heard Jesus was passing by, he didn't wait for a more convenient moment or worry about what others thought. He cried out louder when people told him to be quiet. Why? Because he recognized that this moment might never come again. The tide was coming in. God places open doors before us, but they don't remain open forever. That grandchild who thinks you're a hero, that neighbor who just moved in, that prompting to heal a broken relationship—these are divine appointments with expiration dates. What open door is God placing before you right now? What keeps you from walking through it today? Don't swing when you get ready; swing when the moment is right. Jesus is passing by. This is your moment.
Day 3: Making Yourself Available
Reading: Psalm 71:14-18
Devotional: The psalmist declares, "Even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me until I declare your strength to this generation." Notice he doesn't ask for rest or retirement from purpose. Age, circumstances, and limitations don't disqualify us from God's service—only unavailability does. Joanne Martin, on her deathbed, asked God how she could still be a blessing and picked up the phone to call hundreds of people. She made herself absolutely available. No one can shut the door God opens before you—except you. Partial availability yields partial results. God isn't looking for perfect people; He's looking for available people. What part of yourself are you withholding from God? What would complete availability look like in your current season? The door stands open, but you must choose to walk through it.
Day 4: Beyond Closed Doors
Reading: Revelation 3:7-8
Devotional: Jesus spoke to a church facing persecution, limited resources, and closed opportunities. Yet His message wasn't about their limitations—it was about an open door no one could shut. We fixate on closed doors: lost health, fading youth, broken relationships, financial struggles. These limitations fill our landscape until we can't see beyond them. But Jesus sees differently. The most significant reality in your life isn't what's closed; it's what remains open. God hasn't finished with you. That closed door to your old career might mean an open door to mentor young people. That health limitation might open doors to a prayer ministry. Changed circumstances don't mean diminished purpose. What closed door has been dominating your thoughts? Ask God to show you the open door you've been missing while staring at the closed one.
Day 5: Stepping Into Deep Water
Reading: Matthew 14:22-33
Devotional: Peter walked on water not because the conditions were perfect, but because Jesus said, "Come." Deep water represents the uncomfortable, the unfamiliar, the place where our feet don't touch bottom and we must depend entirely on God. Jesus invites us into deep water—starting that ministry, having that difficult conversation, forgiving that person, serving in that new way. We respond with reasons why it won't work: "I'm not educated enough, experienced enough, young enough, old enough." But God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. The open door before you may feel overwhelming, but it's an invitation to see God do what only He can do. What deep water is Jesus calling you into? Stop listing reasons why you can't and start expecting God to show you why you can—with Him. Step out of the boat today.
As you complete this devotional journey, remember: Behold, God has put before you an open door which no one can shut. The question isn't whether the door exists—it's whether you'll walk through it.
