Last night at G1 felt a little different.
Our community has experienced heartbreaking loss this week, and I think it reminded me again just how precious every opportunity we have with young people really is.
Last night we took time to recognize two of our seniors Christian and Dylan and gather around them to pray over them. To remind them that they are loved, that their church is behind them, and most importantly, that God goes with them into whatever comes next.
We also had the privilege of hearing from McKenna and Aiden, both college sophomores, as they shared with our students. I was incredibly proud watching two young adults use their voices and experiences to point a younger generation toward Jesus.
These pictures mean a little more to me today.
Ministry to the next generation matters. Being present matters. Knowing their names matters. Listening matters. Praying over them matters. Pointing them to Jesus matters.
We can’t know what tomorrow holds for any of them, but while God gives us today, we want to love them well and continually remind them where true hope is found.
God first.
“Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.”
