At Limestone Presbyterian Church, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. Our goal is to

infuse life and God's love into people and families through engaging, powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways. Together, we are striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there's relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we'd like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time. We also offer exciting educational programs for your children, kindergarten through fifth-grade, and youth during the Sunday School hour beginning at 10:00am. A couple of weeks ago it was our weekend to hang out with our family from Presbyterian Church Gaffney and our neighbors at the Soup Kitchen. Thanks to these good folks who served the meal.

The color photo is obviously Montreat. Is it an LPC group? A Foothills Presbytery group? Someone's small group? Who are the Limestone folks in the photo? And just for contrast, another LPC photo that is obviously Montreat. We know who they are, and they are dressed slightly differently than than the youth. But, still...every day is better in Montreat! In putting our anniversary cookbook together, we are looking through the Gaffney Ledger archives. We found reference to a cookbook insert published by the Ledger in 1969. Does anyone happen to have a copy of that? Sure, it was more than 50 years ago, but we are a people of hope. We're just curious what recipes might have come from LPC folks in 1969. Thanks for sharing this out in the community. Call the church office or drop a comment here if you have a copy we can look through. Thanks for your help...and be looking forward to our cookbook, "Taste and See: 150 Years of Cooking and Eating at Limestone Presbyterian Church."

Yesterday we concluded our summer worship with a potluck lunch. And isn't that a beautiful plate? Everything was delicious! This summer we've enjoyed having breakfast at church, worshiping around tables in the FLC, worshiping in the chapel, having more interactive services, and, as always, being together. We'll be back in the sanctuary next week, but what we know is that we can worship God anywhere we gather.

Last week we celebrated LPC's 149th birthday and played Human Bingo. Every day's a school day -- we are still learning new things about people we thought we knew. And we learned that one of our favorite 5-year olds loves to garden. Who knew? 😉
