Today The Holy Sprit has tasked me to do a devotional, to encourage, uplift and faith build. Our first scripture comes from 1 John 4:4 KJV “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” There are seven times in 1 John we as believers are called Little children by John the beloved. He approached things in a kind, tender, pastoral approach. Jesus even used the phrases ‘little ones’ or ‘little Children’. There’s no where in scripture that calls us the adults of God. Sounds foolish even to say. Thank God it doesn’t. The adult learns to doubt and doubt is instilled because of how society teaches adults. When I tell my boys one is 4 years the other is 11 months, I’m going to the store I’ll be back. My eldest will ask daddy can you get me something. Depending what I say, they take it to the bank “my daddy is gonna get me something.” Not even a split second I walk back in the door my eldest says “what did you get me?” That is his faith at work. They didn’t doubt my word. Don’t shout me down when I’m teaching good. I know exactly where I’m going with this. He doesn’t worry about his needs. Because daddy takes care of them. What does scripture say about our needs? Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply ALL your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. So here we see there’s no need to worry, God will supply’s ALL our needs. Don’t doubt what He’s said or what he will do for you. What Does scripture say about our wants Matthew 6:33 says But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." My son’s had to seek me for an answer if I may or may not will something for them. Use your faith voice & ask. What’s the worse God can say? no. If he does there’s a good reason why. What is the motive of your heart behind what you’re asking for. He knows what will be done with every bit of it. Being saved isn’t just about what can God give you. If you’re saved on that basis something is very wrong. Now it’s not a sin to have wants or have things even money. It’s the love of money that’s the root of all evil. God knows your intentions before you even ask. Are you content with what you have. The apostle Paul notes in Philippians 4:11 he learned to be content in all circumstances. We should learn to be content in him and seek him first. Prospering starts inward in the heart of the believing Christian. Then and only then can it grow outward spiritually physically, financially. 10 fold 100 fold to 10,000 fold. Ect. Deuteronomy 28:6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out". This is part of the blessings promised for obedience to God. Are we obedient in our walk? I’ll end with this Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" Is Christ in you, The Hope of glory who you have your total faith anchored in today. If you’re having a rough patch just remember he’s the hope of Glory in you He has blessed us with eternal life because of His finished work the Cross we are blessed and taken care of. I’ve Never learned to doubt. Have a nice day! ~ Pastor Jacob.
