I'd like to take a minute to share with you our purpose and mission. The pastor, Brother Phillip Mathis, and the congregation at New Faith Community Church realized several months ago that there was a huge void and lack of discipleship when it came to college age students and young adults. The typical church usually goes to great lengths to have a successful youth ministry that normally includes h
aving a paid youth pastor and numerous activities to keep the students excited about God and attending church, but as soon as they graduate high school they would often be remanded to a regular "boring" Sunday school class or even worse, be left to fend for themselves. The folks at New Faith understand that this is the WORST possible time to abandon these students! They are at a point in life when they have the ability to leave the protection of their parents constant guard and are having to make decisions they never have before while often under enormous pressure from the secular world, including agnostic or atheist college professors who would like nothing more than try to shoot holes in the faith of a impressionable young person. So with this mindset New Faith began to look for a way to fill this gap in ministry and somehow God saw fit to lead Callie and I to this place where our desire to serve met up with their desire for outreach and The Journey Ministries was born! Our hope is to build a program that enriches and supports our young people so that they draw closer to God during this difficult period in their life instead of following the crowd while utilizing every method of communication at our disposal to broadcast Gods love, including Facebook and Video Bible studies for those who cant attend church due to school or work schedules. We greatly appreciate your support and prayers as we take this step of faith and launch this exciting new ministry.
