Our Story

Our Vision: We are an imperfect people learning to love perfectly Discovering with our neighbors Hope and wholeness through Jesus Christ Our Mission: To making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

We embrace that we are an imperfect people who are learning to love perfectly. All too often church buildings become bastions of judgment. At Court Street UMC, we strive to be a place where we can lay aside our masks of perfection and come just as we are to worship and study in a judgment-free zone. Come to worship in whatever clothing you find most comfortable, be it casual or more formal. We encourage active participation in worship. We want to worship God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. The audience of our worship is God not the people sitting around us in the pews.

An adult study group meets at 8:45 a.m. every Sunday. Before and after our 10 a.m. worship hour guests are invited to be refreshed in The Gathering Place where you can find drinks, snacks, a newspaper, and lots of fellowship. The youth gather from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday evenings for learning, fellowship, and fun! Through worship, study, prayer, and mission we are learning to love perfectly just as God loves us. Sure, we make mistakes. But we work to practice forgiveness and extend grace.

We are discovering hope with our neighbors through two vibrant ministries: Baby Grace and The Food Pantry @ Court Street.
