Faithful God, loving Father, thank you for both Your everlasting love and Your steadfast faithfulness. Our hearts rest in the assurance of Your eternal Word made flesh for us in Jesus Christ. Thank you for Your abiding presence and the promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us.

River Bend Women’s “Welcome to Spring” Tea

“A woman in India watches as her sister is dragged off by Hindu nationalists. She doesn’t know if her sister is dead or alive today.”

“A man in a North Korean prison camp is shaken awake after being beaten unconscious, only to have the beatings begin again.”

“A group of children are laughing and talking as they come down to their church’s sanctuary after eating together. Instantly, many of them are killed by a bomb blast. It’s Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka.”

These people don’t live in the same area or even on the same continent. But they share one thing; they are Christians and suffer because of their faith. Persecution of Christians can happen anywhere, to anyone, at anytime…..and has happened to one of our own.
