Thank you for your support Ryan Brent/
The protests against Israel and the venomous hatred are all to familiar to us as Jews. We never expected see such overwhelming support for terrorists in this country. It is a sad day indeed.
To our Jewish Students, Faculty, Staff, Community Members, and all who grieve with you,
Today, I address our community as an individual and do not speak for anyone else.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the people of Israel were barbarically attacked by subhuman cowards. For the record and as a local politician who represents the people of North Orange County, I condemn Hamas and their heinous terrorist actions in the strongest possible terms. I stand in complete unanimity with the Israeli people and all Americans who are traumatized by these atrocities. It has never been more clear that this is a matter of good versus evil and we must always speak-out against evil, just in case some people aren’t aware of what it looks like. I have done this over and over in my role and will never stop.
This is a major apolitical global event that is a defining moment in history and America’s response will be managed at the federal level. The overwhelming majority of the American people agree with President Biden’s words of support for the Jewish people and the orders for American military forces to deploy to the region to play a supportive role in rescuing hostages, obtaining intelligence, and ensuring that Israel is kept safe and free to focus on their pledge to eradicate Hamas, so they never again have to fear such cowardly attacks from Gaza.
The stories of innocent civilians being grotesquely murdered and terrorists using victims’ cell phones to send death videos to their family members or posting them on their social media pages is completely reprehensible and was intended to inflict maximum and lasting psychological and physical damage upon the Israeli people and the civilized world. To be clear, terrorists were ra**ng women and parading them in the streets, burning children alive, slaughtering the elderly and infirmed, beheading babies, and also kidnapped hundreds of people to further torture or use as pawns.
Hamas and terrorists like them can no longer be allowed to exist after these coordinated attacks, which killed over 1,300 innocent civilians in a single day, including dozens of Americans. As horrendous as these attacks were for Israel, sadly and yet again, the terrorists also signed the death warrants of innocents who live within the Gaza Strip. Gaza is only 25 miles long and 3-7 miles wide, with Egypt to the south, and the sea to the west. The civilians need to leave now before it’s too late and hopefully, Egypt will be an option after negotiations but there is currently no way out for them and Hamas may force innocents to stay to be used as shields.
War is extremely ugly, which is why it is best to never start one. These terrorist killers have majorly miscalculated and the horrific way they tortured people, who have already been the most persecuted in history, will leave a lasting resolve amongst the civilized world. If there was ever a previous doubt, the true colors and intentions of a terrorist regime and their sympathizers have been gruesomely displayed for the world to see. Now, the only colors that matter are Blue, White, and Red. 🇺🇸 🇮🇱
Vile antisemitism has unfortunately been rampant on college campuses and it must end. How many times in the last few years have we heard phrases like, “It’s not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist?” Our collective community has been very quiet on this tragedy. Where are you now? It is time for every individual to state what side they are on. Do they stand with the civilized world or do they stand with evil terrorist killers? “Do you condemn Hamas?”
As an American hero once said, “Let’s Roll!”
