Many of our Hispanic Disciples churches are familiar with Iglesia Cristiana La Hermosa in New York City. This is a great story about DCEF partnering with La Hermosa on a transformational project.

The partnership between Iglesia La Hermosa, the Northeastern Region, Obra Hispana, and DCEF is helping transform a community.

On Saturday, September 19, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the African American churches, ministries, leaders, and others within the PSWR will gather in joyful fellowship to give thanks and honor God and the extraordinary ministry and legacy of Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Bynum.

This celebratory reception with program is being held at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, in the Sierra Room, 18000 Park Plaza Drive, Cerritos, CA 90703. Together, we will gather in thanksgiving, joyful fellowship, sacred reflection, and prophetic witness as we honor Rev. Dr. Bynum’s many years of faithful and compassionate advocacy on behalf of African American ministries, leaders, congregations, DSF (she served as Director of Student Life from 2012-2020), and others throughout the Pacific Southwest Region and beyond.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION IS OPEN for Regional Assembly 2026! Register now through Aug 31 at a cost of $40 for adults and $5 for all youth up to age 18. Starting Sept 1st, registration will be $50 for adults and $10 for all youth up to age 18. Childcare for infants and preschool-aged children up to age 5 is free.

Registration includes Fri and Sat admission, Fri dinner, and Sat lunch. In addition, there will be a continental breakfast on Sat morning, and closing reception Sat afternoon.

We are grateful for the directors, counselors, musicians and keynoters who volunteered their time to put on three impactful and memorable weeks of camp "In the Wilderness" at Loch Leven Camp & Retreat Center. We also celebrate our partnership with Christian Church in Arizona and the blessing it is to work together for the youth in our regions!
