St. Paul's Lutheran Church will be holding services this morning (December 28) despite the wind and conditions but urges that those traveling use caution and be sensible in whether or not to come. Whiteout conditions have been reported in the country areas, but the wind is expected to be reduced as the morning goes on. Use your good judgment and be safe.

All are invited to our special worship services this week to celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ, God's Son, to humanity.
Christmas Eve service of Carols and Candles will be at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 24. Familiar readings and carols will predominate the service, as well as individually lit candles at the final carol, "Silent Night." The emphasis will be on Jesus, God who became a child for us, that He might save us from our sins and provide for us that we might become children of God.
Christmas Day service with Holy Communion will be offered at 9:00 a.m. on Dec. 25, emphasizing the everlasting nature of the newly-born Jesus of Bethlehem, and that He can bestow upon those who believe in Him eternal life.
Invite family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to celebrate with you the Savior sent for all our sakes.
Merry Christmas!

So very grateful to all those who gathered at St. Paul's, Fulda, ahead of the parade of lights! Thank you to the Fulda Community Club for judging, to our volunteers for serving hot cider, hot cocoa, and hot Hawaiian coffee to our neighbors, to Thrivent for their Action Grant to purchase food and drink, and to all those who worked hard on their wonderful Hawaiian-themed floats! Thanks also to Fulda's emergency services: the police department, the fire department, and the ambulance service for the es**rt in the parade!

Multi-generational Christianity and far-reaching mission work are not diametrically opposed. Rather, they are fruit from the same Holy Spirit, who would have us transmit the truth of the Christian religion not only to our family members (including our in-laws!) but everywhere we live and go and others live and go. We thank God today for our faithful women in mission who serve the Christ in word and deed!

Forgiveness of sin: it is what God gives to us as sinners; it is what He would have us extend to others, especially those who have sinned against us. Forgiveness includes trust in God to provide for us and protect us. If someone sins, we should call them to repentance; if they repent, we should forgive them, even if they are not as infrequently offensive as we would like. Christ help us!

Jesus seeks and saves the lost, and has a reputation for doing so among the Pharisees. God grant that His reputation as one who brings the mercy of God, welcomes into the fold of His Church, and forgives sins, causing ranks of those in heaven to rejoice be great among us and our children.
