Meet our new Youth Pastor – Pastor Ty!

Aloha! My name is Tyler Liu, but I typically answer to Pastor Ty or Pastor Kai. I’m married with 4 kiddos, and have been involved in ministry for a while. I grew up in Hawaii (yes, I’m Hawaiian… yes, my last name is Chinese… yes, my mom is white… yes, I’m a mutt!) After High school, I went to Bethel College (University) in Mishawaka, IN and graduated with a BA in Christian Ministries, Christian Education, and a minor in Youth Ministry. I continued my education at Asbury
Seminary in Wilmore, KY and got my MA in Youth Ministry, but just a few hours shy of my MA Divinity. I’ve served in Churches in Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky & Michigan. I stopped vocationally ministry several years ago. As our family grew, it became very difficult. With our 3rd child entering college this year, and after much prayer, feel that now is the time to offer my services to the kingdom again. My occupation is a CDL Concrete Mixer Driver… This is how I care for my family. I requested to join the team here without pay, but with the understanding that I often times work 60-70 hour weeks in peak season. Not sure how or where within the church God will use me, but I am excited and passionate about offering my knowledge and experience wherever its needed. If we haven’t meet before… I’m the bald guy (not by choice!) usually wearing Aloha Shirts and sitting in different places around the sanctuary. I might be in your seat next! So say “Hi” before you kick me out!

While it's been quiet on our page, we have had so many exciting things going on behind the scenes as we kicked off the new year!

First - we are SO EXCITED to welcome Pastor Tyler Liu to our youth ministry! We can't wait for the kids to get more involved with him, and his vision for our church!

Sometimes life can get a little.........MESSY.
The good news is, Jesus loves messy people! Whether you're 5, 45, or 105, we all have our own messes. What a Mess! VBS is about how Jesus deals with our messes; our sins, mistakes, and weaknesses. Throughout the week we will look at the following questions:

-Why is the world such a messy place?
-How does Jesus respond to our messiest moments?
-How should we respond to our messes?
-What does Jesus do about our messes?
-What about other people’s messes?

All the while, we are going to have lots of messy fun, with messy snacks, games, crafts, and more!

How are we at our LAST day of Camp Chaos?!?! This week has flown by and we have so enjoyed our time with your kiddos! What an amazing fun crazy week it has been!

We want to invite all of the kids to wear their Camp Chaos VBS shirts on Sunday, as we get to sing 2 of our songs for the church! We will even have a peek into our week! There might even be a surprise special guest ;)

Tonights theme is: WORN OUT CAMPER! Come dressed as your most exhausted camping look! (I know for me, I don't have to try hard after this week!😴)

Day 2 of VBS Camp Chaos tonight! We had 27 kids last night! So much fun & laughter.

Tonight's dress up theme: Are you a Camper? Or a Glamper? Come dressed as your most rugged camper, or come in your fanciest Glamper gear.

We can't wait to see you all tonight!

Today starts 5 days of ChAoS!!!!

MOVE OUT MONDAY!!
Come dressed appropriately for a hike with shorts, a tee-shirts, sneakers & a hat. You can also level up with wearables like boots, long socks & bandanas!
Best dressed at the end of each night gets an award!

PS. Keep an eye out for this pesky squirrel!! We hear she causes a lot of "CHAOS" ;)

2 Days!!!!

Our Dress up theme for Day 5 is:
FRAZZLED FRIDAY! After a long week of light sleep, heavy food, and no showers, we are worn out and ready to go home. Embrace the look baby. Embrace the look. We’re heading home with messy hair, grungy clothes, filthy faces, and high spirits. Level up the look with bandages. Use makeup to create tired eyes or animal scratches. Or add a few rips to some old clothing that was headed for the rag pile.

Our Dress up theme for Day 4 is:
THICKET THURSDAY! Get your green game going and be at one with nature. Wear brown pants and a green shirt and say, “Look at me, I’m a tree!” Dress in green from head-to-toe, and add some flowers and vines. Or break out the camo and face paint so that nobody will see you coming!

Our dress up theme for day 3 is:
WILDLIFE WEDNESDAY
Mountain lions, and tigers, and squirrels?? Oh yes! Dress up as your favorite forest animal! You don’t need to buy a costume. Get creative with what you’ve got. Or, bring your favorite forest creature plush friend to accompany you through the day. Just be sure to bring a backpack for your fluffy friend to camp out in during activities. What’s that? Can you do both? Dress up and bring a forest friend? Of course you can!
