This evening, Frostburg Council 1442 members and their families gathered after Mass to hand out marigolds and baby bottles.

Led by Chancellor Tim Nield, this annual program honors mothers with flowers while providing parishioners an opportunity to support the 1st Way Pregnancy Support Center.

Donations collected in the baby bottles help the center provide exceptional care and resources to women throughout their pregnancy.

Pictured above: Chancellor Tim Nield, Chris Buckalew (PGK), Grand Knight Nick Costello, Whitney Costello, and Timmy Nield.

The Council will continue the distribution after all Masses tomorrow.

We are incredibly grateful to the many Knights and family members who volunteered their time for this cause. We truly appreciate your service!

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Frostburg Council 1442, Knights of Columbus!

The Knights of Columbus Frostburg Council 1442 presented donations this evening to Special Olympics and to Friends Aware, Inc. collectively totaling $8,017.31.

These funds were raised during the annual Tootsie Roll Program organized by Brother Ronald F. Hansen. During the program, 16 Frostburg Council Knights volunteered about 72 hours collecting donations from the public for those with special needs.

When donations are made, a special K of C branded Tootsie Roll is handed out as a way of saying Thank You to those who donate.

This year the collected funds were donated as follows:

🔹Allegany County Special Olympics: $2,674.44 |

🔹Garrett County Special Olympics: $2,671.44 |

🔹Friends Aware, Inc: $2,671.43 |

🔹TOTAL: $8,017.31.

The checks were presented by Grand Knight Nicholas J. Costello and Treasurer E. Charles Durney, PGK, to Dottie Turner who represented Special Olympics and to Mark Bittinger who represented Friends Aware, Inc.

Ms. Turner and Mr. Bittinger each provided remarks and shared information about their programs.

In addition, Grand Knight Costello presented Brother Ronald F. Hansen with a special plaque on behalf of Council 1442 in recognition of his outstanding leadership and organization of the annual Tootsie Roll Program.

We truly appreciate all of the individuals who donate and support this program each year.
