Front Royal Church of Christ

Front Royal Church of Christ We are a traditional church of Christ striving to restore New Testament Worship. We believe titles only serve to divide and that creeds of man are unnecessary.

In the most simple of definitions the church of Christ is a group of disciples who belong to Christ. In the New Testament, where we find the beginning of the church, the church didn’t have a title and the believers were not guided by the principles of a mere man. We call ourselves the church of Christ as a descriptive name rather than view it as a title. The word ‘church’ comes from the Greek word

‘ekklesia’ and simply means ‘the called out.’ So, we are the called out who belong to Christ. We are just regular people from almost every walk of life. We come from different economic levels, are of a variety of ages, different racial backgrounds and, in our spiritual lives, we are at different stages of knowledge and spiritual growth. We don’t claim to be mistake free, but we do strive to imitate Jesus as much as possible. If you decide to visit us you will find people who love Jesus, who love the Bible and who love one another.

What makes a person truly respected? In a world focused on popularity, style, and social status, the Bible points to something far deeper. Proverbs 22:1 reminds us that “a good name is to be more desired than great wealth.” A lasting reputation isn’t built on appearance or influence—it’s built on integrity. Keeping your word and standing by your values matter far more than fitting in with the crowd. When people know you are dependable and consistent, they see the strength of your character. What does it take to build a truly good name? Read more to reflect.

The Book of Ruth begins during the chaotic time of the Judges, yet within that darkness shines a story of loyalty and faith. After losing her husband, Ruth chose to remain with her mother-in-law Naomi and declared, “Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God” (Ruth 1:16). Ruth left everything familiar to follow the true God. Her choice ultimately placed her in the lineage of King David and Jesus. Her story reminds us to choose faith and seek God above all else (Matthew 6:33).

Let's turn together to the Book of Ruth. Today, I want to draw our attention to the first chapter of this beautiful story. Ruth is set in a time of great chaos

In Ruth 2, we see God’s providence at work. Ruth humbly went to glean in the fields to provide for Naomi, and by God’s guidance, she came to the field of Boaz. Boaz showed remarkable kindness, protecting and providing for her after hearing of her loyalty and faith. This chapter reminds us of three powerful truths: Ruth’s humility, Boaz’s generosity, and God’s faithfulness. Even when we cannot see it, God is working behind the scenes. When we trust Him and serve faithfully, His blessings unfold in ways we never expected.

As we turn to Ruth chapter 2, I want to walk you through an incredible story of faithfulness, humility, and the divine hand of God at work. The story begins wit

Has God left us guessing about how to be saved? The Bible says His Word is a light that reveals the way to eternal life. Throughout Scripture we see examples of faith, repentance, and humility—but after the death and resurrection of Jesus, a new covenant began. Under this covenant, the gospel calls people to hear the message of Christ, believe in Him, repent of sin, confess His name, and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. 📖 What does the Bible actually say about salvation today? In Ruth 3, we see Naomi seeking security for Ruth and guiding her to approach Boaz, a kinsman-redeemer. Ruth responds with courage and humility, asking Boaz to “take her under his wing.” Boaz, a man of integrity, honors her request and promises to resolve the matter properly. This chapter highlights Naomi’s wisdom, Ruth’s faith and obedience, and Boaz’s righteousness. It reminds us that God often works through faithful choices, integrity, and trust in His plan for our lives.

Turn with me to the book of Ruth, chapter 3. As we continue in our study, I want to revisit the journey Ruth has taken so far. We’ve seen her noble decision t

Eternal life is the greatest gift God has ever offered. But how do we receive it? Throughout the Bible, God’s gifts are freely given—yet they still require a response. Israel was given the Promised Land, but they still had to step forward in faith to possess it. In the same way, salvation is by grace, but Scripture shows that faith calls us to respond to God’s will. 📖 What does the Bible say about receiving the gift of eternal life? Ruth’s journey of faith reaches its beautiful conclusion in chapter 4. Boaz, a man of integrity, honors the law and redeems Naomi’s land while taking Ruth as his wife. Through this act of faithfulness and compassion, God brings restoration and hope. Their son, Obed, would become the grandfather of King David—placing Ruth in the lineage of Jesus Christ. This story reminds us that God works through faithful choices, even in difficult times, to accomplish His greater plan of redemption.

Now, let's turn our attention to the book of Ruth. In this short but powerful story, we see a journey of faith, loyalty, and redemption. Ruth made a noble choi

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” (Proverbs 1:7). What did Solomon really mean by that? It’s not just fear in the sense of terror—it’s a deep reverence and respect for God that becomes the foundation of true wisdom. When we honor God and submit to His guidance, our lives are shaped by wisdom instead of foolishness. But Proverbs also warns that those who reject instruction miss the path that leads to life.
