Hi NewStart Family,
This Sunday we’re beginning a new series: JESUS IS LORD. SATAN IS NOT. Are We Giving the Devil Too Much Credit?
When something goes wrong, we sometimes hear things like:
“The devil is really attacking me.”
“Satan is trying to stop this.”
“The enemy knows exactly where I’m weak.”

But how much power does Satan actually have?

Can Satan control our thoughts?

Can he make us sin?

Does he know what we’re thinking?

Can he interfere with God’s plans?

And are we sometimes giving Satan credit for things the Bible never says he can do?
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to look carefully at what Scripture actually teaches about Satan, temptation, evil, and spiritual warfare—and, most importantly, what it means to live confidently in the truth that Jesus is Lord. Satan is not.
I think this is going to be an interesting series with some great conversations along the way. I hope you’ll join us Sunday at 10:45!

Hi NewStart Family,

We hope you'll join us this Sunday at 10:45 AM as we gather for worship, communion, prayer, and time together. This week's message will come from Romans 12.

We also wanted to share some good news about the community chess ministry that Robbie has started! We’ve had a great group of kids joining us on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5–7 PM. They’re having a wonderful time learning and playing chess, but even better, we’re getting to know the kids and build relationships with their families. It’s exciting to see our church being used as a place where our community can gather and feel welcome. We would love for you to join us!

We hope to see you this week! If you are not able to join us for worship Sunday, you can join us right here: https://youtube.com/live/ec-dUdF9HfQ
Peace and love

Hello NewStart Family!
This Sunday we’re continuing our Learning to Love series with an important question: Can we really change? Not just our behavior—but can God change our hearts, our desires, and the way we love?

Paul gives us some interesting things to wrestle with in Romans. In one place he says we are no longer slaves to sin, but then he describes the struggle of doing the very thing we don’t want to do. And then in Romans 8, he talks about a new kind of life made possible through the Holy Spirit. So which one describes the Christian life?

If you have a few minutes, read Romans 6:6–14, Romans 7:14–24, and Romans 8:1–14 and think about this question: Does God simply forgive us—or can He actually transform us?

I’m looking forward to our conversation together! If you cannot join us in person Sunday at 10:45am, you can join us on our YouTube channel right here: https://youtube.com/live/5CmedEdcJU0

See you Sunday,
Denise

Hello NewStart Family,
I hope you'll join us this Sunday as we continue our series, Learning to Love.

Have you ever stopped to think about what is shaping your heart?

The biggest influences in our lives are often the ones we don't even notice. Every day we're surrounded by messages about what will make us happy, successful, and fulfilled. Over time, those messages begin shaping what we believe, what we trust, and even what we love.

This Sunday we'll explore Jesus' words: "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)

Together we'll ask:

What stories is our culture telling us about the "good life"?
How do those messages quietly shape our hearts?
What does it look like to let Jesus reshape our loves and lead us into true freedom?

We would love for you to join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

If you're unable to be with us in person, you can join us online live at 10:45 a.m. or watch the recording anytime afterward:

Hello NewStart Family,
I hope you'll join us this Sunday as we continue our new series, Learning to Love.
Have you ever noticed that even good things—success, relationships, security, or recognition—can leave us wanting more? What if the problem isn't that we desire too much, but that we've been looking to the wrong things to satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts?
This week, we'll revisit the story of Adam and Eve and wrestle with two questions that are just as relevant today as they were in the Garden:
• What was the serpent really tempting Eve to believe?
• What does it look like to trust God in everyday life?
Join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. We'd love to worship with you! If you can't join us in person, you can watch live or anytime afterward on YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/LkI5Gf3Mcdw?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Grace and peace,
Denise

Hello NewStart Family,

This Sunday we're beginning a new series called Learning to Love: How Christ Heals Our Hearts.

Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
Every one of us is looking for that full/abundant life—joy, peace, purpose, and hope. The question isn't whether we're searching, but where we're searching.

This Sunday we'll explore Jesus' invitation to abundant life and His words in Matthew 6: "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Together we'll begin discovering how the things we treasure shape our hearts—and how Christ gently leads us to the life we were created for.

Following worship, we'll gather in small groups for discussion, so come ready to learn and grow together. If you're unable to join us in person, we'd love to have you worship with us online at 10:45 a.m. or anytime afterward using the YouTube link: https://youtube.com/live/CGXdji7jS4o

I hope you'll join us!
Denise
