We are a young (founded in 2003), multi-generational congregation affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), working to provide Spiritual nourishment to all. To do this, we strive to share the Word so that all may experience God and God’s love. Thus, we are committed to going forth into the world in peace, seeking justice as we share forgiveness and love. Our gatherings are open and relaxed (w

Juneteenth is more than a date on the calendar.

It marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Texas finally learned they had been freed, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

At Faithbridge Presbyterian Church, we take time to honor this important part of our nation's history and celebrate the freedom, resilience, and contributions of our African American brothers and sisters.

We also remember two leaders who helped bring greater awareness to Juneteenth:
• Opal Lee, known as the "Grandmother of Juneteenth," whose advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federal holiday in 2021.
• Al Edwards, the Texas state representative known as the "Father of Juneteenth," who led the effort to make Juneteenth an official Texas holiday.

As a welcoming and affirming congregation, we believe every person's story matters. This Juneteenth, we join in celebrating freedom, dignity, and the ongoing work of building a community where everyone belongs.

To anyone in a hard season, this is for you.

Faith isn't always easy. The wait is long. God can feel silent. And most of us pull away from community exactly when we need it most.

But isolating only makes things worse.

At Faithbridge, you don't have to carry it alone. There are people here who will carry you when your load is too heavy.

You are welcome here.
Vulnerability is hard, but it is worth it.

God is a constant. God never leaves. 🙏
