Interested in joining the Annual Cornerstone Mission in June or the Mission to Colorado in July?

Please join us at 12:30 pm in the St. Philip's Study to hear about these life changing missions in 2025!

We will have important information for both of these missions and discuss the intentional work (both physical and relational) we have been called to.

Summer Youth Mission Day 4!

On their last of service, the team was back at the Community Kitchen serving meals - again handling dessert prep, table/chair sanitization, the carry-out bags, and other tasks in preparation for lunch.

The team had a great boost as Mother Lillian (Associate for Missions and Pastoral Care) and Rhonda Colgrove (Director of Outreach) joined the team and served alongside them and grew the team to ten members!

After serving in the kitchen, the team cleaned out the office/storage room for Shalom Builders (the ministry that supports senior homeowners with their minor home repair needs), sorting items as "keep", "throw away", or "donate." Donated items are moved outside and made available to the community.

After cleaning their living quarters for their stay, the team enjoyed pasta dinner and a movie. Friday is the "fun day" where the team can enjoy a fun activity.

This was truly an amazing week in the mission field. Thank you again for all the prayers and support!

Youth Summer Mission Team Day 3!

The team cleaned two apartments newly-available for lease, from top to bottom, to get them ready for new tenants- walls, floor boards, shelves, cabinets, kitchen appliances, bathrooms, bedrooms/closets, living room, and floors (vacuum/mop).

That evening they hosted Bingo Night at Park Manor, a Dallas Housing Authority property that caters to seniors and persons with disabilities, complete with prizes and snacks. 13 residents joined in the fun and games with laughter, cheering, and applause - mixed with seriousness and intensity (prizes were at stake)! The residents had a blast and wanted to know when the team would be back!

After dinner and fellowship, the evening ended with Uno, Compline, and some great debrief discussions on what they have seen, felt, and experienced this week.

Thursday the team returns to the Community Kitchen, and to serve with Shalom Builder (Cornerstone's mission that supports senior homeowners with minor home repair needs). Please continue to keep this team in your prayers!

Summer Youth Mission Day 2!

Another great day of serving with Mrs. Linda in the Community Kitchen! The team first helped prepare 200 bags of food that were handed out when the clients arrived (sandwich, small dessert, chips, soda, and water). Some ate the food as an appetizer, while others saved it as a carry-out.

After hearing a message from guest speaker Pastor Andre we helped serve the hot meals of fried chicken, vegetables and rolls (again, 200 of them). Some of the team prepared the plates, the others served them.

The team has been able to meet and talk to several clients and other volunteers. It's always amazing to see God's people, from all Christian denominations, rally to serve and encourage those in need - truly the body of God at work.

After touring the Clothes Closet and shower facilities (additional services that are available to the clients), the team wrapped up the day of service cleaning up and preparing toilet paper packets.

The day ended with a youth-prepared Taco Tuesday dinner, preparation for Wednesday's Bingo event, card games and laughter. Please continue to keep our team in your prayers!

On Day 1, our Summer Youth Mission Team arrived early, ready to work!

They spent the day working in the Community Kitchen with Mrs. Linda, prepping for Tuesday. Tuesday and Thursday are the days that meals are served to the "clients" (Mrs. Linda calls them clients - not homeless - because their situation does not define who they are). She directs everything that happens in the kitchen - food planning, food preparation, donation coordination, directing 20+ volunteers, keeping her clients in line, and responding to a constant flow of questions (especially from us).

The team learned how to use a manual pallet jack, cleaned all 24 tables and 336 chairs, and helped inspect, sort, and organize food and clothes donations.

After a full day of serving with Mrs. Linda, followed by a shopping trip for dinner ingredients and bingo prizes (for later this week), the team enjoyed individual pizzas and some warm cookies. Stayed tuned to see the ways God is calling our team to serve tomorrow!
