What an incredible beginning to the 2026-2027 OCIA journey at Mary Queen Catholic Church!
Last Thursday, August 27, we welcomed 88 adults to our first "Come and See" evangelization session, making this the largest group of seekers in the history of Mary Queen Catholic Church.
Through prayer, fellowship, and an openness to God's call, these men and women have taken an important step in their faith journey. 
Please join us in praying for all those discerning a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and for our OCIA team that accompanies them along the way.
May our parish continue to be a place where people encounter Christ, experience community, and grow as disciples. 🙏

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary Queen will celebrate Mass at 8:30 AM. 
While the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated this year because the solemnity falls on a Saturday, we as a Marian Parish would like to think of it this way:

✨ It's not a Holy Day of Obligation. It's a Holy Day of Opportunity. ✨

An opportunity to step away from the busyness of life, honor Our Blessed Mother, and draw closer to her Son, Jesus Christ. An opportunity to reflect on the hope of heaven and the beautiful destiny God desires for each of us.

As many of you may have heard in the announcements this past weekend, we are having a night of Adoration, Praise and Worship tomorrow Friday, August 14 at 6pm in the main church. It will be a reverent time to reflect, sing and pray in fellowship. With a family friendly atmosphere, we invite you to come spend an hour as one parochial family in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

Our Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) journey begins on Thursday, August 27. For someone you know, this may be the invitation God has been preparing them to receive. 
This week, we encourage you to pray for one person and personally invite them to “come and see.” One simple invitation can change a life and perhaps even eternity.

All high schoolers and jr. high students who fit into one of the following categories are invited to join Youth OCIA at Mary Queen.

Catechumens: Unbaptized persons who desire to be fully incorporated into the Church through the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Candidates for Full Communion: Those who have been baptized in the Christian faith and are seeking full communion in the Church through Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

*Those who have been baptized and raised Catholic but have not yet received their First Communion are also invited to prepare for the Sacrament of Confession and First Communion.
