Required first-come, first-served reservations for limited seating are being taken for a free Community Valentine's Pasta Dinner being provided by the What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of participating churches.
Chef Reuben of SoutherTier ALIVE in Friendship will be preparing the entree, including the homemade sauce and a choice of rosemary or his new garlic bread, for the Sunday, February 15, event.
The 4PM to 6PM activity, being held at the Friendship NY Bible Baptist Church at 43 West Main Street, will include a program as part of the alliance's ongoing focus on strengthening marriages and families.
This annual event is being moved from Houghton University to Friendship this year to enable easier access by area individuals and families.
First-come, first-served requests for the dinner can be made at [email protected] or (585) 664-9989, with names, community of residence, telephone number with area code, and email address.
Additional strengthening families activities by the participating congregations will include publication of free resources available to couples in developing and maintaining strong marriages, participation in the National Marriage Week observance during the seven days prior to Valentine’s Day, which will include additional assists, and highlighting the Weekend to Remember couples retreat, this year in Rochester, with a registration discount being made available through the alliance.
That gathering, one of dozens hosted around the country annually by the national Family Life ministry, will be held Friday night to Sunday noon, March 6-8, with a discount available when registering online at https://tinyurl/Weekend-to-Remember or during normal business hours at (800) 358-6329 and using the Friendship alliance's savings code of WhatGodisDoing.
Registration for the retreat includes a dozen learning sessions over the three days, two guidebooks, access to the event app and special couples projects.

Ladies meeting is tomorrow at 4:00 the snow removal crew will meet at 2:30 .anyone wanting to help ,be a blessing and show up say 3:30 as a relief shouvler.

Update : Pastor is showing flu type symptoms ; and the Mrs. is still very weak and very tired and still suffering much pain . and because of these conditions he and numberous others that were contacted this morning , the decision has been made to cancel tonights new years eve. program . And is asking for all to have a time of prayer sometime before or at mid-night. Regarding Thursday Jan.1st. Bible Study is Hebrews 4:12 " The Sword of The Spirit . Be Blessed : stay safe and hopefully we will gather on the Lord's Day .

If your life feels shattered at Christmastime due to the death of a loved one, even years later, separation or divorce, financial difficulties, personal or family illnesses or other situations which can make a Merry Christmas seem like something which can never be achieved, join us at 6:30PM Sunday, December 21, to gain hope in the midst of pain.
Our Blue Christmas service, hosted by the What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of participating churches, this year at the Friendship Bible Baptist Church at 43 West Main Street, also is held on The Longest Night of the year which often adds even more emotional drain on individuals trying to cope with various types of anxiety and grief.
There will be a period of lamentation and reflection for both those experiencing life's disruptions and friends and family members who want to come alongside, but also a time of hope and healing which can be learned about and found in Jesus Christ as we celebrate his birth over 2,000 years ago.
The service, which will include Christmas treats and beverages, along with a small gift item and resources which can help one move forward in the grief process, will be held at the Bible Baptist Church, rather than the previously announced Mission House Family Center Chapel, due to heating issues at the former location.
