This Sunday, we are celebrating a second week of easter to honor our Coptic and Orthodox brothers and sisters abroad, focusing on the story of the Passover and the power of the timing of Jesus's crucifixion. How it ties into both Revelation 13 and our discipleship today.

CTK Statement of Faith

CTK shall seek to uphold the maxim, “in essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty,
in all things charity.” Therefore, the doctrinal beliefs that are important to the
membership and leadership of CTK shall be divided into two categories: primary
beliefs and secondary beliefs.
A. Primary Beliefs
Primary beliefs are those essential beliefs of the Christian faith that unite
the members of Christ the King Friday Harbor. They are summarized by two
historic creeds of the faith: the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed.
1. The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator
of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born
of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he
descended to hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of
God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
holy catholic* church, the
communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and
the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
2. The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the
Father almighty, maker of
heaven and earth, of all things
visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the
only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten,
not made; of the same essence as
the Father. Through him all things
were made. For us and for our
salvation he came down from
heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and
was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he
suffered and was buried.

The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory to judge the
living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the
Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son, and with the
Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We
look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and to
life in the world to come. Amen.

Secondary beliefs are those nonessential beliefs that may vary among
members and leaders of Christ the King Friday Harbor. These nonessential
beliefs are those not explicitly outlined as a primary belief such as political
views, gender roles, use of spiritual gifts in the church, eschatology,
consumption of alcohol/tobacco, speaking in tongues, predestination,
election, etc.
While not essential to the Christian faith, secondary beliefs should be
thoughtfully and prayerfully considered in light of the interpretation and
application of the Holy Scripture. Where disagreements arise, they should
be met with grace and civil discourse for the purpose of better
understanding one another’s perspectives and with the intent of allowing
God to work in different ways throughout the diverse membership of the
CTK family.

Our dear friend Lyndsy recently lost her mom, and we’d love to support her during this incredibly difficult time. Providing meals is a simple, meaningful way to help ease the load so she can focus on grieving, resting, and taking care of herself. Thank you so much for showing up with love, nourish...
