The Chaplaincy would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to City Councilmember Annalisa Perea and Khalsa Aid for their generous donation of backpacks and school supplies. Through Project STEALTH, these supplies will make their way into the hands of local students who need them most—helping them walk into the classroom feeling prepared, supported, and ready to learn. A backpack may seem like a small thing, but to a student, it can carry so much more than school supplies. It can carry confidence, opportunity, and the tools to build a brighter future. ā¤ļø

The Pop-Tart thief may still be on the loose… but thanks to some recent donations, their reign of terror has been slowed down for now.
Snacks may seem like a small thing, but for our chaplains and first responders spending long hours on calls, having something quick to grab can make a big difference. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to support the Chaplaincy. Whether it’s a generous gift or simply a box of snacks, every donation helps us care for those who spend their days caring for our community.

When responding to a call, even something as simple as where and how you park can make a big difference. Busy streets, emergency vehicles, and unpredictable situations can make arriving on scene challenging. That’s why our chaplains train at the Jerry P. Dyer Regional Police Training Center, where they learn how to safely navigate the difficult situations they may encounter on the road. It’s one of the many behind-the-scenes skills that help our chaplains arrive safely, work alongside first responders, and be ready to serve when they’re needed.

Serving our community well means always being willing to learn. At our recent Chaplains’ meeting, we had the privilege of hearing from Danny Guzman, a Fresno Police Department Crime Prevention Community Services Officer from Central District. CSO Guzman shared a helpful refresher on best practices for our chaplains while serving out in the field alongside our officers. Training like this helps ensure our chaplains can step into difficult situations with greater confidence and care, and we are so thankful for everyone who helps equip them to serve our community.

Some calls are over in minutes, but others can stretch on for hours. That's why the NEST is on scene to make sure that, in the middle of an extended call, our officers have a place to step away for a moment. Whether it’s grabbing a snack or a drink, using a clean restroom, or simply finding a few minutes of quiet, the NEST provides a space to recharge before heading back out to serve our community.

This year, we were incredibly honored to be chosen as a recipient of support from the BAPS Charities Walkathon 2026. We are so grateful to everyone who walked, participated, and helped make this generous donation possible. It helps our chaplains continue showing up for first responders, families, and members of our community when they need care and support most. To BAPS Charities and everyone who made this year’s Walkathon possible: thank you for believing in our mission and helping us continue the work we are so blessed to do. Your support truly makes a difference!

A new school year is about to begin, and with it comes the opportunity to build new relationships. šŸ’™
Project STEALTH recently joined Pathway Community School for its ā€œDrop In and Seeā€ event, serving refreshments and, more importantly, beginning to get to know the students, parents, and staff who make up the Pathway community.
This year, our Project STEALTH team will be on campus serving as mentors—showing up, building trust, encouraging students, and walking alongside them throughout the school year.
Mentoring starts long before a student needs help. It starts by simply being present and building relationships. And we’re excited that those relationships are already beginning.

What starts as a desire to serve often grows into something much more. At the Chaplaincy, we’re incredibly blessed to have a dedicated community of chaplains and volunteers who show up with compassion, generosity, and a genuine love for the people they serve. Before long, it feels less like an organization and more like a family.
