Be With us on Tomorrow as we teach and preach from Matthew 5:13 "Why does Jesus call us the 'salt of the earth'?

Salt Preserves: We are called to preserve righteousness in a world turning away from truth.
Salt Enhances Flavor: Our presence should bring out the best in others and add value to their lives.
Salt Heals: Just as salt has healing properties, we are called to offer hope and peace through the Gospel.
The Question: Are we living as the "salt" Christ calls us to be—making a meaningful impact?

I know we love black history month; question does history live in our house?
My wife is a descendant of the following: Queen Charlotte (1744-1818), the wife of King George III (1738-1820), was descended from Margarita de Castro y Sousa, a Black branch of the Portuguese royal house. Some consider Charlotte to be Great Britain's first Black or biracial queen. My family lines come out of Margarita de Castro y Sousa. So truly when we call our wife's our queens, I know for a fact my wife comes from royal blood. How do I know I did the research and have the proof. She is my Queen.

Now look how each major religion believe in God if they believe in God at all and why being a Christian is different than all the other religions:

Understanding how different religions perceive and understand the concept of God. Each religion has its unique perspective on divinity, which reflects its historical, cultural, and philosophical context. Here's an overview:

Christianity
Nature of God: Christians believe in one God who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. God is perceived as loving, just, and merciful. Trinity: A central doctrine in most Christian denominations is the belief in the Trinity, which describes God as one being in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

Islam
Allah: In Islam, God (Allah) is strictly monotheistic. Allah is considered the creator, sustainer, and restorer of the world. The attributes of Allah include being all-powerful, all-knowing, and merciful. No Physical Form: Allah is not attributed any physical form and is beyond human comprehension. Depicting Allah in any form is generally prohibited in Islamic tradition.

Judaism
Yahweh: Judaism is strictly monotheistic, believing in a single, indivisible God (Yahweh). God is seen as the creator of the universe, and the source of moral law. Personal and Transcendent: God is both transcendent (above and beyond creation) and immanent (involved in the world).

Hinduism
Multiple Deities: Hinduism encompasses a wide range of beliefs, but most Hindus believe in a supreme divine spirit called Brahman. Brahman manifests in many different deities, each representing various aspects of the divine. Personal and Impersonal God: Hindus may view God as a personal deity (like Vishnu, Shiva, or Lakshmi) or as an impersonal absolute reality.

Buddhism
Non-Theistic: Traditional Buddhism is non-theistic and does not focus on a creator god. It emphasizes personal spiritual development and the achievement of a deep insight into the true nature of life. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas: While not gods, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are revered beings who have attained enlightenment and help others achieve it.

Sikhism
One God: Sikhism believes in a single, formless God (Waheguru) with no physical representation. God in Sikhism is omnipresent, omniscient, and eternal. God in Everything: God is seen as inherent in the entire creation, and the goal of life is to be in harmony with this divine presence.

I hear all the time don't we all serve the same God? My answer no we don't. Just in the belief of what is sin every religion looks at it differently. Check it out:

Differences from Christian Beliefs

Original Sin and Salvation: The concept of original sin and the need for salvation through Jesus Christ is unique to Christianity. Other religions do not share this belief in the inherent sinful nature of humanity or the need for redemption through a savior.

Karma and Reincarnation: Hinduism and Buddhism operate with the concept of karma and the cycle of rebirth (samsara), which has no equivalent in Christian doctrine. In these traditions, actions have direct consequences on one's future rebirths, unlike the Christian focus on judgment after death and the eternal soul.

Nature of Divine Forgiveness: In Christianity, forgiveness of sins is closely tied to belief in Christ's atoning sacrifice. In contrast, in Islam and Judaism, forgiveness is more directly linked to individual repentance and God's mercy without the intermediary of a savior.

Ultimate Goal or Liberation: The ultimate spiritual goal in Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism (moksha or Nirvana) is different from the Christian emphasis on eternal life in Heaven or damnation in Hell. The path to these goals is also distinct, focusing on right living, meditation, or enlightenment.

In summary, while there are some parallels in the recognition of moral/ethical guidelines and the concept of transgressions against a divine order, each religion has its unique interpretation of what constitutes sin and the path to overcoming it. The Christian understanding of sin, especially regarding original sin and the role of Jesus Christ in salvation, is distinct and central to its theological framework.
