Philippians 3:13-14
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus
———

Moving forward is not just a catchy theme; it’s the main point in the Biblical story…
From the very first chapter of Genesis:
W see God giving us the important task to take care of and cultivate creation.

Then, in the story of Exodus:
The people of God make their way step by step toward the Promised Land, showing us how to move forward in faith.

The prophets:
They remind us not to dwell on the past when they say, “Do not remember the former things, I am about to do a new thing.”

Philippians 3:13-14
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

As it says in the Bible, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ
He is a new creation: old things has passed away; behold, all things have become new”!

Jesus declared: “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty … All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” (John 6:35-37)

1 Corinthians 11:23-26
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

Sunday Celebration
Acts 2:38

38 “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.””

* Repentance: The first command is to “Amend your lives, and change direction” (repent) from sin.

* Baptism: Believers are instructed to be baptized “in the name of Jesus Christ”.

* Forgiveness of Sins: Baptism is for the “remission” or “forgiveness” of sins.

* Gift of the Holy Spirit: Following repentance and baptism, the promise is to receive the Holy Spirit.
